A lot of "cool" without necessarily being better.

Grass is always greener and all that jazz.

Colin didn't have a script for Episode 9.

Everything that he'd been working on was thrown out in December of 2016, and he never actually turned in a finalized script before he got fired.

The internet has spoken, and they would have preferred whatever he was planning. And he only got fired because of book of Henry.

This is factually incorrect based on publicly available information dating back to January of 2017.

Next you will tell us that the DBs didn't get fired because of the Game of Thrones finale?

Assuming this is true (sorry but I got a whole bucket of salt on this one), it doesn’t sound appealing in the slightest. It sounds very fanboy-ish in nature and honestly disappointing in the end that Kylo would have been “extinguished” as opposed to being saved. I didn’t love The Rise of Skywalker but it’s better than what I read in that article.

We have no idea why David and Dan's Trilogy was cancelled.

However, like I said, this is not the case when it comes to Colin Treverrow and Episode 9.

I think this is the most unserious of threads and feel it deserves no more attention.

Listening to Rob Burnett's reading of it on You Tube, I thought overall it was better than what we got in TROS, particularly when it comes to making the sequel trilogy more cohesive overall and giving more ownership to the sequel characters and storylines. I really liked the title "Duel of the Fates".

I liked the Palpatine hologram idea. It allows for Ian McDiarmid to come back and be part of the sequels, yet in a more logical way than what we got in TROS. Don't get me wrong here, I liked TROS for the most part and I enjoyed seeing Palpatine again even if his resurrection wasn't explained and his ending was a bit anticlimactic. I also liked the idea of Torr Valem being this ancient dark side teacher, though he seemed to be taken out too easily. I also get what DOTF was trying to do to build up Ren and making him a legit big bad, but I think it was too late to take him seriously and was hoping DOTF still had another antagonist waiting in the wings. I thought DOTF's end for Ren was anticlimactic, and that it was done slightly better in TROS. I didn't buy that DOTF spent so much time depicting how fully turned to the dark side Ren was only for him to just give up like that, just because Leia asked him to. If that was the case, shouldn't that have happened years ago? I did like Ren's Force vampire powers, I also liked that he actually got a lick in on Rey for once and even blinded her (so now that Rey has a physical cost like Anakin and Luke, though her injury reminds me of Rebels' Kanan).

I thought DOTF made better use of Rose, I liked the idea of the heroes stealing a Star Destroyer. Also liked the mission to Coruscant. I'm glad we got to see the planet again and the Jedi Temple. I also think the script made better use of Hux. I was iffy on how it depicted Finn, Lando, and Dameron. I wasn't a big fan of a Dameron-Rey romance (I liked how TROS had them needling each other). I also thought Jannah had potential in TROS and there was no similar character in DOTF it seems. I do like what that Artoo and Threepio had bigger roles and that Chewie got to fly an X-wing. I was fine with how the script utilized Han, Luke, Obi-Wan, etc.

I don't think much was made of going back to Mortis, especially if the Son, Daughter, or Father didn't play a role in the film. They could've used Moraband/Korriban instead.

DOTF feels more like an organic sequel to The Last Jedi than TROS did. That being said, it answered questions germane to the sequel characters and storylines, but that being said, I thought Rey's real last name in DOTF was underwhelming (I was more okay with her being a Palpatine, because that meant more for the story in TROS than Rey's real last name did in DOTF). As I said before, if we had gotten DOTF, or close to it, I feel it would've made the sequels feel more cohesive, but that being said, since I wasn't a big fan of the sequels I could see myself leaving the theater thinking the film did what it needed to do, but not super excited about it. I actually left TROS feeling better about it than I had Episodes 7 & 8 because I got to see the Emperor again, got to see Luke act more like the Luke I remember, got to see more personality from the sequel heroes, got to see the battle of Exegol, etc. With DOTF, not sure how I would've felt after leaving the theater.

It would be great to see a comic book adaptation of the DOTF script a la The Star Wars adaptation and the Gibson Alien 3 adaptation that Dark Horse put out.

They signed a $200 million Netflix deal after a bidding war. They are in high demand and I doubt they were fired, no one in the industry cares about a badly received finale, what they care about is that those two managed to create one of the most successful shows in recent history and successfully ran it for a decade.
And before anyone says "That's because they had GRRM's novels ...": No! If all that's necessary for a successful series is good source material it wouldn't be such a struggle to find the next big thing.

I like and dislike it.. Having some near immortal being that we haven't heard of till now being the new big bad of the Sith is a bit crap.
Having the emperor in holocron form teaching Ben would have been better. And still keep paps ded.
But the biggest thing that is better that tros is.. It keeps the first order as the bad guys.. Not some new never mentioned last order with 1000s of sith acolytes..
    Owell
Maybe him talking to anikin in ghost form.. Logging it over him that he did what Anakin couldn't.. He rules the galaxy.. He surpassed him.
I enjoy reading screenplays of rejected movies.. Like the original aliens Prometheus script.. Much better than what was on screen.

Don't know how anyone can take Burnett serious after his part in the Axanar fiasco.
