Just curious
Agreed on all your pointsWatched both at Christmas, hadn't seen the second in a long, long time...
I wondered myself if the second one wasn't a better film overall. Billy gets a more exciting role in containing the outbreak at the tower, Gizmo goes 'Rambo', etc. Loved seeing Christopher Lee and Robert Picardo in scenes together. The guy who owns Clamp tower is just the right amount of bizarre. Microwave With Marge, all the transformation serums etc. there is so much weird but entertaining shit just thrown in there, and the result is a unintentional masterpiece.
Right now I'm thinking New Batch is more fun to watch. First one is great and still holds up, but it starts a little slow and doesn't push the envelope completely over the edge like New Batch does. First Gremlins is a lot more like a traditional thriller/comedy and the New Batch is break-the-fourth-wall comedy with a couple of gory scenes.
You are very mistaken.I was under the impression that the second one was a steaming pile that everybody hated.

I've only seen the first one and for some reason I was under the impression that the second one was a steaming pile that everybody hated.
Not free but Amazon can rent for $3.99 each. The Blu-Ray pack with both is only $7.49.Are they streaming free anywhere legally?
