Tardigrade lawsuit appealed

It's hardly spam if each of the posts linked by you have new, pertinent information, no?
You could say the exact same thing about each and every new Midnight'sEdge or Doomcock video. They include the exact same damn "sources", which usually is a mixture of public documents, and personal tweets, blogs or emails between the two. Or just some rando conspiracy theories from Twitter. All heavily slanted.

And thankfully we're not allowing these types of videos here either.

AxaMonitor is not a "news" site. This is an activism site reporting about it's own actions in a pretend neutral tone with "commentary" sections added. It's spam.

THIS is what a good post about an opinion piece with some good information looks like:
I saw this recommended on twitter, it was a good watch.

He originally supported Anas, but is now questioning his stance.

It's informative, it's opinionated, but it's not pretending to be anything it isn't (aka a "news" site), there's no blatant user-action calls, it's not reporting about itself in third person, and most importantly it's not hidden advertisement with an agenda.

AxaMonitor in contrast very obviously wants in on the exact same ad revenue pie as Midnight'sEdge and Doomcock, but by producing constant content for the other side of the debate. But equally uninformative and divisive bullshit to rile up fans and push subscription numbers.

In the latest AxaMonitor Daily:

  • Tardigrades appeal. Lawyers for Tardigrades game developer Anas Abdin finally filed two vital pleadings allowing his appeal to move forward, meeting a deadline by just hours that might’ve seen the case dismissed because the attorneys filed three weeks late. Learn what was in those documents (juicy!).
  • Skeptics doubt threat. Abdin’s post Thursday showed homophobic hate mail he claims came from Star Trek: Discovery fans went viral, with hundreds tweeting their support. Trouble is, according to one skeptic, the handwriting in that threat looks reeeeeeeally familiar. See for yourself.
  • Justifying appeal. We’ve got details in Abdin’s appeal of a federal judge’s order to dismiss his copyright infringement lawsuit because he failed to make a case. His lawyers give four reasons why the suit deserves to go to trial. How well do those points hold up under scrutiny? Read our analysis.

While I don't appreciate the way he went about handling it with insults and demands instead of just leaving it for the mods to deal with, I'm going to have to agree with Rahul that this kind of promotion crosses the line into spamming. While I appreciate the service your site provides in summarizing the case, you're just straight up advertising your newsletter here. You're allowed to keep the newsletter and site link in your sig because T'Bonz permits that, and you can post links to individual articles relevant to the case, but from now on please don't solicit subscriptions (even free ones) or advertise your newsletter on the forum like this. No warning or anything, just a cease and desist.

Comments to PM.

Okay, can we seriously stop this spam?

This guy is a one-topic advertisement account, producing hundreds and hundreds of posts in different threads all only about ONE topic, his own crappy conspiracy website, always copy-pasting his latest text without adding anything insightful in his posts, always ending with Read More and sign up for his shitty newsletter and then "answering" questions as if this here were his own website, only to vanish for a week and then do the same crap with his newest article again.

I wouldn't mind @carlosp linking to his own website every once in a while. But this level of advertisement is just shameless.

Rahul, I don't know how many times I've had to talk to you regarding your behavior in this and the previous Tardigrades thread. You actually raised a valid issue and handled it in the proper way by notifying the staff, but then you had to call it out here. Speculating on the authenticity of one letter does not make him a conspiracy theorist, and calling his site crappy and shitty and comparing him to Doomcock and Midnight's Edge was out of line.

There is a court transcript from January at the start if this video that just makes me laugh.

Lmao the code for the video almost spells Anas: bKa3OAnans8

Just seems odd that he would get homophobic hate mail from Discovery fans of all folks.
Yet the particular "Hateful Discovery Fan' that supposedly sent the letter somehow also included their email address???
I'm way more suspicious about the whole things due to that particular tidbit than it looking like Abdin's handwriting.

Also, being gay in Egypt isn't a thing that one wants to admit out loud too often.
I can see why he'd be reluctant to report anything to the authorities there.
He's probably already dancing on a tightrope by becoming so public with this whole thing.

I have to admit, the funniest part for me was the Stamets/Culber edit when Ketwolski was like, "they got a lot of that gay action happening in Star Trek Discovery" Let's Get It On starts playing.

Excecpt Smallcock and Nerdidiotic promote nothing but outright lies and BS. At least Calros and Axamonitor articles have documents and other hard evidence to back up their claims, unlike the lawsuit we're discussing here.

Im glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks for watching :)

@carlosp, please disregard the aforementioned and continue to provide links to your excellent coverage of this issue. Thanks. :)
Well, yes and no. I asked him not to include the subscription solicitation links to his newsletter, which is what Rahul is referring to there, and to just confine it to the one link in his sig. Even though it's a free newsletter it's considered advertising and is against the rules.

The links to individual articles on his site with updates to the case as they happen are fine to post, however.
