Good news! And unlike the other shows, I suspect this will have a quicker turnaround. When your main star is pushing 80, you don't have the luxury to wait over a year between seasons!
We kinda knew this anyway from the negotiations with Bob Picardo and (gulp) Denise Crosby. But it's good to see it confirmed.
There's nothing definite in the works. Crosby has been mentioning since an interview back in July that she would certainly be willing if They wanted to use Sela again for the PICARD show. She talked about it more recently in this Sept. 2019 interview with TREKCORE. http://blog.trekcore.com/2019/09/interview-catching-up-with-star-treks-denise-crosby/ She said that STO is apparently trying to figure out a way to incorporate the Sela character into their PICARD story-line. ...“[Seeing Sela in Star Trek: Picard] would be so good,” Crosby said. “Sela wasn’t fulfilled for me. I had great ideas for that character. She also shows up in Star Trek Online. One of the lead designers for Star Trek Online just emailed me yesterday and had a meeting with a story consultant for Picard to discuss how right it would be to bring Sela into the world of Picard.” Wishful thinking? Perhaps, as Crosby assured me she was not promising an appearance in Star Trek: Picard. “I don’t want to be that annoying person, trying to get on to the show,” she said. “But if they asked… of course!” ...
I guess, but I think it was more of an assumption rather than expressly trying to convey false information a la M-E. For all we know at this point The Production may be considering it.
Cash changing hands is as good an indication as any. It's been almost thirty years. Give her a chance.
It still might be! They could cancel it anytime, destroy everthing filmed and return all that tax money and payoff any contract owing people money because this makes sense do them feeling angry over having to settle for a Picard show when they clearly would rather do a Alec Peters Axanar show if only CBS hadn't been bullied by Kurtzman to not give the true fans what they REALLY wanted is more Axnar. But Kurtzman said no way. If you do this me and Abrams gets to keep our 75% of Trek forever and you CBS only gets the other 25%. Jason
I believe the term Denise used was "talks", which I guess is somewhat looser than "negotiations". Apologies for giving the incorrect impression.
