Why do you continue to watch if it angers you so much that you stoop to namecalling?
This is a very small sample size. Maybe 5 people have chimed in. Maybe you like wimpy men, and that's fine. But that's not Superman.
Superman is one of my favorite fictional characters. I watch in the hope that they will get it right. This is a mega crossover, and other than the portrayal of Superwimp, it's been a good start, and a great setup. I'm looking forward to the Routh and Welling versions, and maybe they will be written better, and I'm hoping that once out of the shadow of these insecure writers, with his own team, Superman can be done better.
And only name calling I am engaging in involves the fictional character that is being written poorly on TV. Despite the intolerance and name calling of others on this board, I don't want to engage.
If you want to talk about other facets of the Crisis, I'm game. There's a lot more to it than Superwimp.

Also there's nothing wrong with liking wimpy men. Not every man needs to be a strong bad ass.

Some want to live in an echo chamber. Twitter and Facebook serve that purpose, but no one ever said this board was intended to encourage a hive-mind view of every topic. If some fail to understand that, then it is their problem that needs to be worked out elsewhere.
I wish that were true, but the episodes haven't shown that. And it isn't just how ridiculous his encounters with Supergirl have been. Everyone is beating him up, even his own double in last year's crossover. They couldn't even give him that.
And this week, he wasn't just weaker physically, he was emotionally a wreck. THAT is not Superman.
In this case, his child was lost, so his behavior surrounding that--and Argo's demise triggering thoughts about his own lost home world--were justified.
Clearly you've never read all of the comics. He's been vulnerable a lot of times.

And regarding "Superwimp" -- considering he is a little older... i would say this is a natural way to put the focus on Supergirl, by having Superman being a bit burnt out, along with having a family he has to care for. At this point in his life, it is realisitic that he isn't as "great" as he used to be... I look at myself, the father of 2 girls, and feel like I am not as active or passionate about other people as I used to be. So i really relate to this TV Superman. Supergirl, meanwhile, has just gotten started. So i understand he optimism and and hope. I think it makes sense for her story.
It was this SUperman that helped mentor and inspire her to be the hero she is now. He isn't a wimp...just older and different priorities.
Inspire? Maybe, but Kal didn't spend even a second training the lady, like Winn and Alex did.

I actually thought his heat vision gave out first because he was putting more energy into it in the beginning to try and supercharge those panels quicker, where as Kara was pacing herself. In "reality", however, shouldn't those panels just have melted under the onslaught rather than have been energized?
Speaking of "reality", how many people really think that there were enough alien ships around to carry 3 billion off world, much less think 3 billion people would have listened to the alien pilots/national governments to get on those ships, much less think they would have done so in an orderly fashion to allow them to leave the planet before it blew up... and as for "reality" how many people think that the new Earth would have welcomed 3 billion who just appeared on their doorstep like Gander Newfoundland on 9/11 x 428,571.
You can't reasonably whine about echo chambers while simultaneously whining about too much diversity, which is what Kirk Prime is doing and you are inexplicably defending. He wants everyone he watches on TV and film to either be exactly like himself, or where people like him are in the dominant position (the ultimate echo chamber), or the way he envisions himself —because no one so fragile over the depiction of a fictional character that constantly crying about their alleged submissiveness becomes their defining characteristic online can really judge who's a wimp or not.
But then, this comes from another one of those guys who complains the most about a lack of civility while being incredibly uncivil towards others not like him. He seems to think civility ends at not making smartass remarks and insults and doesn't include how you treat women, people of color, LGBTQ people, the disabled, etc. It's fine to treat any equal depiction of people like that as "forced diversity" or an insidious agenda apparently, but god forbid if anyone uses harsh language to rebut you.
But mostly, and I can't possibly stress this enough, people just want him to shut the hell up because he's a one-trick pony on a broken record who complains about his same insecure bullshit in every goddamn genre thread he participates in, derailing it. Everyone knows where he stands. Women must not ever be shown in an equal or more flattering light than men or else I feel emasculated. Got it. Message received loud and clear the first eleventy times you whined about it. Move the fuck along. Get a blog or a twitter account and whine about it till your heart's content. Why do we all have to be constantly subjected to it?
It has nothing to do with politics, it has to do with tedium. We're fucking exhausted by this forum being taken over by the whiny fucking manbabies and their constant need for emotional reinforcement from TV and film. This kind of behavior has driven tons of people away from the SF&F forum who just want to discuss the merits of the shows and movies themselves without all the extra baggage about soothing someone's fragile ego.

Supergirl has a greater yellow sun reserve in her body, which translates to heat ray vision, strength, speed and invulnerability.
Although how much/well would she have to max out her microscopic vision to be powered out?

Superman had been spending time under a red sun on Argo City. It would have been surprising if his heat vision charge had been equal to or better than Supergirl's.
