No, that was Tim Curry. Sam Witwer did voice Palpatine when he appeared in the second season of Rebels.
The IMDB for The Siege of Lothal does show Sam Witwer as the voice of Palpatine in the original airing of the episode: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4236890/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_9
Yeah, it was Witwer early on. Then they got McDiarmid for later appearances and went back and dubbed him over Witwer. Witwer did a fantastic job as the Emperor, though. I found a clip on YouTube with his original performance: I believe he voiced the Emperor in The Force Unleashed, too. (Where he also played the main role.)
The relish in how the words "Looord Vaaader" literally drip from his lips is just spectacular. Sure, McDiarmid is THE emperor and always does a marvelous job, but Witwer is absolutely amazing in the role.
Ryan Johnson visited the set of The Mandalorian this season and was so impressed that he decided he wants to direct an episode next season if his schedule will allow it.
Obviously. If he has time to direct an episode, how come his trilogy isn’t coming along quicker? Huh?!? INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW, RIAN!!!! Ahem.
But some guy on YouTube said he had been escorted off the premises after being fired for making the manbabies cry on Twitter.
LA Times: Kennedy said she plans to make key decisions about the direction of the franchise in the coming weeks. But some things she already knows. While the “Skywalker” saga is ending, the company won’t abandon the characters created in the most recent trilogy. Additionally, she said, the plan is to move beyond trilogies, which can be restricting. “I think it gives us a more open-ended view of storytelling and doesn’t lock us into this three-act structure,” she said. “We’re not going to have some finite number and fit it into a box. We’re really going to let the story dictate that.” "Obviously, I'm not referring to Rian's trilogy here," she did not continue. "Remember that trilogy of films we officially announced two years ago? Our decision to make three of those movies was not a 'finite' number or restricting. Three is only a finite number when I say it is," she didn't go on to explain. "And when I said I'd be making key decisions about the franchise in the coming weeks, those decisions will not be about Rian's trilogy of three films, no more and no less, which is 100% definitely still happening!" she didn't conclude.
The bizarre notion that these films need to come in sets of three is definitely one they needed to get away from.
I agree they shouldn't be limited by the structure, I'd hardly call it a "bizarre notion." Three-part stories are as old as dirt.
Even TWOK, TSFS and TVH form something of an informal trilogy that was never originally intended. I don't mind trilogies as long as they're, you know, good. And therein lies the question. Will one be? If it is then I won't care.
I think I see what they want. A MCU! As series of stand alone movies loosely connected will occasionly lead to their version of the Avengers. This explains the lack of planning with the current trilogy. Find away to kill all the old characters you don't care about to build around Rey,Finn and Kylo Ren where maybe they each even get their own movie even. Jason
