More Star Wars? Yes, please.I don’t see how more Star Wars movies are a bad thing. If you don’t like them, don’t go.

I want them to play around with different genres. The Mandalorian does this with westerns. Really explore what can be done with the franchise, that’s what makes the Marvel movies interesting they’re all different genres that all happen to exist in the same universe and it’s full of superheroes.More Star Wars? Yes, please.
Exactly. The Star Wars universe is vast. I am hoping that moving beyond the Skywalker saga will open up a lot more possibilities.I want them to play around with different genres. Really explore what can be done with the franchise, that’s what makes the Marvel movies interesting they’re all different genres that all happen to exist in the same universe and it’s full of superheroes.
Well...you enjoy that...I want a Star Wars horror film. The EU had zombies. They don’t have to go that far, but stick someone on a planet full of scary creatures and they have to fight their way off.
Sure they are. Propaganda can mean all sorts of stuff, from morale boosting to misinformation campaigns to, yes, virtue signalling. You're saying that because you don't like the way the term is currently being used, those two words have no meaning when used together. When the BTK Killer, who was not a government, went to church for decades, was he not virtue signalling? Etc. Point is, you're not a grand arbiter on the English language. That’s called propaganda, it’s done by a government and not an individual. The intent and thought them aren’t even comparable.
If more women had been involved in the writing and directing of TFA/TLJ, they might not have been so terrible.Since that scawy woman took over, and that scawy girl became the star... it just isn’t the same, you know.
Then don't say I'm being smug. If you can't take it, don't dish it.don’t call me darling.
And I find that argument to be completely absurd. Even if you feel, as I do, that TFA/TLJ were wretched rehashes of the OT, and that Kennedy has made a creative mess out of the first four years of her tenure by overseeing two terrible movies, two mediocre animated shows, and two passable prequels to ANH, none of which have laid any solid storytelling groundwork for the future of the franchise, finding a future for the Star Wars franchise, with Disney's resources and paychecks, is one of the most enviable tasks on the planet. It's creative control, production capability, and a loudspeaker to a massive and overwhelmingly supportive fan base without equal in the entertainment world.I was suggesting going forward that finding a future for this franchise is an unenviable task, and you know that’s what I meant.
BTK was a psychopath and not a good example of the average human being. A psychopath by definition does not feel empathy or emotions like the rest of us. You’re trying to apply the thought processes of psychopaths to the entire species which is worrying.Sure they are. Propaganda can mean all sorts of stuff, from morale boosting to misinformation campaigns to, yes, virtue signalling. No, it's not, because the fan base will turn on them the moment one thing is out of line. So much so that it drove Lucas out of the business. It is not enviable.is one of the most enviable tasks on the planet.
The fact that many of Hollywood's most esteemed and powerful people continue to flock to the franchise suggests otherwise. No, it's not, because the fan base will turn on them the moment one thing is out of line. So much so that it drove Lucas out of the business. It is not enviable.
Agree to disagree. This fan base has become so negative that I wouldn't blame them for not wanting to do it.The fact that many of Hollywood's most esteemed and powerful people continue to flock to the franchise suggests otherwise.
Possum, perhaps you're right about this term. I probably haven't thought nearly as much about it as you have. Very well, I concede the point, and apologize for being an ass.![]()
That's certainly true, and I have a good deal of sympathy for Kelly Marie Tran, and the harassment she's endured. As for the likes of Lucas and Kennedy, however... well, Lucas is an oddball and always has been. I have no idea to what extent fan outrage genuinely wounded him, or to what extent he may be using it as a cover for his reticence to do the stressful work of filmmaking. As for Kennedy, I don't know her at all - unlike George, I haven't spoken with her for a fleeting moment - but, I'd be surprised if she cares about trollery from people she'll never meet. She's from a generation that's older and tougher-skinned in a lot of ways than our perpetual grievance culture, and has earned her stripes in the business; I'm sure she's faced down far worse in person than whining, vituperative YouTube rants.I like SW but there is no excuse for treating these content creators the way they have been.
I'm not perfect!Ugh, the ONE time you have a point, and you give in...

The novel Death Troopers was awesome. And zombie Chewie slaughtering his family during Life Day celebrations is exactly the kind of legitimizing the Holiday Special I think everyone can go for.I want a Star Wars horror film. The EU had zombies.
The stuff from Clone Wars with the witches on Dathomir could be perfect for setting a horror movie vibe. They don’t have to go that far, but stick someone on a planet full of scary creatures and they have to fight their way off.

I suppose it would help if I clarified, that was a dream. Brought on after Chewie was infected by the zombie virus, which reacts differently to Wookiee biology. His body is able to fight it, but while it does, he's plagued with dreams in which he is a zombie slaughtering his family on Life Day.
