    "Reportedly..."

Yeah, I believe it when LFL, Johnson and Disney say it.

So it’s an article that links to a YT video from a channel called Lords of the Longbox. The video has less than 1000 views and the channel has about 2500 subscribers. And honestly, it’s all a familiar refrain...

The rumor comes from an individual who claims that LFL is concerned with upsetting die hard fans.

    Guy complains about Galaxy’s Edge.

    “Read between the lines.”

Half of the video is talking about opinions of the other films.

This is really nothing we haven’t seen before. We have no real evidence except YouTubers spouting “inside info” to suggest that the movies aren’t happening. We have Rian Johnson saying they are. I will wait until we have concrete evidence one way or another.

Meanwhile, Iger does suggest the Star Wars films are “on hiatus for a few years.” What that exactly means will be seen.

I think we already knew that they were on hiatus for 3 years. Whether or not that gets extended is anyone's guess.

BTW the day the new movies were announced I posted saying that I don't think we will see another Star Wars movie for the next 10-15 years and everyone laughed at me. Unfortunately, it looks like I will be proven right as usual.

No new Star Wars movies for the next ten-fifteen years? Disney didn't pay billions of dollars for the franchise to sideline its major revenue generation component. I imagine we'll see one in 2022-2023, Hollywood doesn't allow this stuff to lay fallow for long. Whether it is Johnson's trilogy or something else entirely is anyone's guess.

Time will tell. I think waiting is a better idea than every year. But we’ll see what’s decided. You have no basis to claim victory. Yet.

It is funny. You know that I'm not a big fan of Discovery, but I would never wish for it to be canceled and the franchise put out to pasture. I guess I don't understand spiting myself?

It amazes me that the so-called “fans” can’t recognize that. Killing Star Wars now may bring it back some day, sure. But it’ll likely be rebooted. And then we’ll all hate it. ;)

Hiring Feige (whatever his name is) doesn't seem to make sense if they aren't going to make movies for ten to fifteen years.

I was fine with every year. Hell give me 3x a year Star Wars. A prediction has nothing to do with what I want.

Feige just got a big promotion at Marvel. I could be wrong but I’d be shocked if he left.

So you're bringing a guy in with a seemingly massive box office touch and demote him to making a TV show, where the MCU has struggled? That doesn't make any sense, at all.

Oh, I'm wondering the same thing. I am continually blown away by franchise fandom's incessant need to eat its own and wish death and destruction upon the property that is supposedly so cared about. It frustrates me that instead of celebrating aspects of the franchise mutually enjoyed all this energy is poured in to wishing that it fails, celebrating the lack of films, ecstatic over supposed limited numbers, looking for every opportunity to knock it down.

It is why criticism of newer entries in to SW (from books to films) I no longer take seriously. I can't. Because of the fact that there is no love there any more. There is only constant barbs set to bleed out every single ounce of good will directed towards the franchise.

It has become completely and totally absurd the level of loathing directed at Star Wars and Star Trek. And it saddens me. Because instead of a shared love there is only tribalism and hate.
Then why celebrate being right? It's confusing.

He is still overseeing Marvel and apparently ONE Star Wars film. The announcement was pretty clear about that.

So then I would imagine that we aren't going to be waiting ten to fifteen years for that movie...
