Rian Johnson trilogy canceled

There is no victory here. We all lose.
There is literally nothing here. I could post a YT video and blog about the same thing and have just as much credibility.

And, yes, people will spin this in to a victory, in to a categorical denunciation of LFL and Kennedy and Disney and all that other BS.

Discussing baseless rumors is giving this more legitimacy than it deserves. So, if it isn't a victory declaration then what is it?

No new Star Wars movies for the next ten-fifteen years? Disney didn't pay billions of dollars for the franchise to sideline its major revenue generation component. I imagine we'll see one in 2022-2023, Hollywood doesn't allow this stuff to lay fallow for long. Whether it is Johnson's trilogy or something else entirely is anyone's guess.
They will have the tv shows going. Proably good to wait on movies till the right idea comes along while building anticipation. Better to wait than risk becoming the Terminator franchise. Also don't want to end up being outspaced funed by cosmic MCU movies. Jason

The Terminator franchise is incredibly limited, built from the ground up on the hook "robot comes back in time to kill/save someone". Star Wars has a bit more latitude in the storytelling. Hell, fandom has been clamoring for a "Knights of the Old Republic" trilogy since the first game appeared.

I'm not going to believe Johnson's trilogy is really dead until it comes from a legit source.
I think some people really need to realize that anyone can say anything they want on Youtube or the kind of sites in the first post, and just because you see someone saying something you want to be true, doesn't mean it's true.
What I love is when someone posts a link to a site like the one in the first post, but then someone else counters it with an opposite story from legitimate like Entertainment Weekly, the Hollywood Reporter, or Variety, that one is the lie.

Before we call it a fact, shouldn't Lucasfilm/Disney actually make the announcement? Right now it is a rumor being passed of as fact by folks who get giddy when Star Wars fails.

I think we have an idea of what this will look like based on the Benioff & Weiss notice.

Here's hoping it's true - while commercially successful, Rian made one of the worst Star Wars movies to date

I wish they'd get Gareth Edwards working on something for them again

But their are fans like me who didn't even know their was that video game. Fireproof78 a couple years ago conviced me to watch The Clone Wars cartoon and loved it but I bet their many fans that even know they exist. Jason

Lots of fans didn't know Star Wars existed, until they did. So I'm not seeing your point? The title "Star Wars" gets it publicity that other films dream of.

I guess it's not officially canceled, but it would be one of the most shocking things in movie history if it actually happens. Rian made one of the most reviled movies OF ALL TIME (by the internet). Just because I loved the movie doesn't change that FACT. Maybe the noise on the internet is overblown, but why would Disney want that noise at all? They can just have JJ make safe movies for them if they need to make more movies.

Speaking of The Knights of the Old Republic, just bought an original Xbox and am off to start a game!
