News The Disney+ (The New Streaming Service) Thread

I was expecting that pretty much from the moment the accusations came out.
I read through the story about Renner's response to the accusations, and it sounds like this is a pretty ugly situation all around.
If the accusations really are true, then firing him seems like the right move, but I would definitely want them try to find a way to make sure they really are true before coming to a final decision. I would hate to see him get fired because of lies.

I'm disappointed they don't appear to have the old Silly Symphonies, or Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy, cartoons on Disney+.

Those are all considered shorts, and shorts have not been mentioned at all, so they might actually be there...

Are we going to be getting a Marvel TV revamp now that Loeb is leaving and Feige is coming in?

I know they're shorts, I just figured we would have heard about them by now if they were on there. I would have expected them to make a big deal about being able to watch all the old classic shorts. I guess they could be waiting for to make an announcement to launch day.

I'm disa ppointed they don't appear to have the old Silly Symphonies, or Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy, cartoons on Disney+.

I don't know if there might be some missing but these are definitely on the Dutch version (I've recently watched Flowers and Trees, Lonesome Ghosts, the Little Twister, Three Little Pigs, Lend a Paw and Pluto's Christmas Tree and I know there are more I haven't seen).

Given how fundamentally Disney they are, I can't imagine they're promised to a different streaming service, so I'm sure they'll be available on the us version, too.

Hmm, I don't recall seeing the Forky Asks A Question shorts listed with all the other titles too, but I think that was due to be available on launch day.

So yeah, I guess they're just not listing shorts.

Now that you mention, I don't remember seeing that either. That might be it then.

A new Jim Henson Productions puppet talk show called Earth to Ned will be coming to Disney+. Ned is a blue alien who was sent with his crew to invade Earth, but instead developed an obbsession with Earth culture, and now interviews celebrities on the bridge of his spaceship. Ned will be joined by lieutenant Cornelius, who oversees the broadcasts, their AI BETI, and and the clods (cloned objects of destruction). Ned and co are all puppets created by the Jim Henson Creature shop.
This sounds to me like it could be a lot of fun.

This pretty much sums up why I'm holding off on the service. I'm going to wait for some of the original content to drop, such as Mandalorian, Clone Wars and Falcon and Winter Soldier before I make the plunge.

Huh? The Mandalorian is a day 1 thing, and the legacy selection is better than anything including Netflix. This is just some awkward take to get clicks like those articles saying Spotify isn't a good deal because you wouldn't be buying a CD every month.

EDIT: this article doesn't seem to mention the fact that Netflix will be losing most of their "quality movies" when they end up moving to Disney+.

There is more than enough stuff I want to watch available on release day for me get it as soon as it's available.
