CW Looking to Add New Arrowverse Series in 2020

This doesn't appeal to me either....

Mia Smoak is not really a likeable character....and I have never really thought Katie Cassidy did a good job connecting with people.

Dinah, I thought was a good Canary (2nd to Sara, who would've been a much better match for Stephen Amell's Oliver) , but with this team...not sure if she can carry the show.

I am guessing we will be getting a lot of flashbacks along the way.

This is just a pilot, right? Hopefully, feedback will shut this down. We really don't need more DC TV right now (certainly not at the SAME SEASON), and especially not this....a far future show (like Legion of Super Heroes era) might be cool...but 2040? It might seem dated even in 3 years.

This kinda sounds like the reverse of what's been happening between the DC Berlanti Shows and the DC Film Universe...

The movies were taking from what started on TV (such as SUicide Squad)...now TV is taking on a version of Birds of Prey

It's effectively not a 'real' pilot - it's a backdoor pilot ( A Star trek equivalent would be the TOS second season closing episode: "Assignment Earth").

So are they going to drag Mia into the past some how?
I did see a reference to Katherine McNamara filming on the Waverider, so there's a chance she might come back to the present during the Crisis, but that doesn't necessarily mean she'll stay.
Or else send the Canaries into the future, though that would diminish the crossover potential.
I thought the characters who they announced were ones we'd already seen in 2040?

As someone who loathes the flash forwards (I even muted them last night while watching Arrow, I refuse to watch them at all), I don't want to see this. I'd watch a show with the two Canaries set in the present, but anything with the future stuff I won't bother with.

Yeah, but Dinah and Laurel in that poster are at their current ages. And it'd be awkward to have them spend an entire series in age makeup.

Good point, I didn't think about the makeup. If Mia does end up in the present that could also explain why we only heard about her, Laurel, and Dinah in the original announcement. I had originally assumed William, Connor and Zoe just weren't mentioned because they just going to play smaller roles, but if it's in the present that would also explain it.
Maybe if Oliver does die during Crisis then the last few episodes will deal with Mia adjusting to the present and taking over the Green Arrow name.

I quit watching Arrow and therefore haven't seen the flashforwards, but if I had my druthers, Laurel and Dinah's younger selves would go to the future for this spinoff, if only to set it apart from all of the other Arrowverse series.

I'll give any new Arrowverse show a shot (never thought I'd enjoy Supergirl, and I love that show) but this one doesn't come across as anything I'd enjoy. However, maybe the flash forwards for the new seasons will do enough to convince me.

i dunno myself... having a 3-women-led show would be great... But Mia (who shares my oldest daughter's name) doesn't feel very likeable...more like a brat. DInah, i am cool with... 2nd best Canary after Sara Lance, but like her better as part of a team than a lead... and Laurel... what is up with the way they keep Katie Cassidy. I felt like she NEVER had chemistry with Stephen Amell.... her journey to Black Canary seemed forced and "unrealistic" (i know...but even for a superhero show...), and was glad when she died. But then brining her back as Black Siren.... not that much more interesting.

And if they really are NOT having an older Dinah & Laurel....ummm.. not sure...but maybe the Crisis will send Mia back in time or kinda leave her "homeless" because for some reason she wouldn't have existed, and suddenly appearing in 2020 Starling CIty...

We will see.. I will try it..but feel like SUperhero overload as it is. Will this show start in Spring or Fall? Because we haven't had Legends premiere yet, either.

I would rather they have 2-3 shows per calendar season (i.e. Fall, Winter/Spring, Summer) than all at once. Anyone have any ratings info from Seasons 1-3 of Arrow and 1-2 of The Flash?

You really are an odd person.
No..i understand... he could probably accurately recite the dialogue (or type of dialogue)

Where Mia will say something rebillious/negative, someone else will complain about her methods, William complaining how no one listens to him and/or coming up with a brilliant technical idea and/or lame joke

Mia appears to come to the present during Crisis on Infinite Earths, so something might happen that ends up causing her to stay in the present.
