Koenig’s TMP book sez something about Shatner taking karate or something while they were in principal photography. I don’t have the book any more tho.

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting that he was in his best shape during the SFC shots, but that the admiral's get-up was better designed to slim him down than the monochrome outfits were.

Yep, the attempt at creating a sustained profit center was huge.

FYI, I was just at my 40th high school reunion, and I got to explain AP etc. between the appetizers and the Electric Slide.

Graduated Harborfields High School at the age of three or so the rumor goes.

Is that actually so? Because I believe the air tram, travel pod and cargo bay stuff was shot after all the shipboard stuff, where Kirk’s arrival was shot in the first couple of days of production. Time to check those shots!
The SF air tram stuff was scheduled for January of 79 from what I've been able to discover. Travel pod was September 26, 1978. Can't confirm yet when the Cargo Bay was shot, although wild dialogue tracks are listed as being recorded/filmed on September 15, 1978.

I asked that same question a while back myself, out of confusion for his numbering system. I think he’s playing the Lucas game, with the alleged intent to start the overall story in the middle, moving forward with sequels and then, if there’s interest <snort>, go back and do a series of prequels. At this rate, that should all get done by around 2183.
