I'd argue it's exactly what I'd expect a Romulan Bird of Prey to look like if TOS were modernized.
Maybe they were going to use it for DSC before the decision was made to fast forward to the 32nd century.

Seems odd to make it without a specific need.Maybe they were going to use it for DSC before the decision was made to fast forward to the 32nd century.
So what’s with Rikers primitive looking house. I’ve seen more advanced looking home interior and exteriors in the mid 20th century homes. It reminds me of Kirks cabin interior. To go from the advanced enterprise to a crappy looking house is terrible. I do hope that Riker is still in Starfleet. His career was everything to him as Picards was.

The canonistas would love that. Dodged a bulletPerhaps they were going to do an episode about the Romulans.
I find that very unlikely.Maybe they were going to use it for DSC before the decision was made to fast forward to the 32nd century.
Wouldn’t be the first time that someone surrounded by high tech their entire life went troglodyte upon retirement. I plan on doing a similar thing in 15 years or so.So what’s with Rikers primitive looking house. I’ve seen more advanced looking home interior and exteriors in the mid 20th century homes. But in 24/25th century terms he is barely middle aged....Riker is originally from Alaska. I guess in his old age he wanted to get back to Nature. Or maybe that's actually Betazed.
Oh, and per the ComiCon panels, Riker and Troi have left Starfleet.
But the actor isn’t.But in 24/25th century terms he is barely middle aged....
Because this is a Trek forum and people gotta find something to bitch about that they perceived violates Roddenberry’s “vision”.All the grumbling about the Bird of prey is kind of surprising. It’s a space craft, if the design worked previously, other than modernizing the guts of it, what’s wrong with re-issuing a old design? We’re getting ready to go back to the moon with a updated design of the old Apollo capsules, why can’t they do the same thing?
He probably got fired after he let couple of Ferengi to steal the Titan. But in 24/25th century terms he is barely middle aged....
And people's priorities change. A good friend of mine was dedicated to going into the medical field, even if it bent having no family life. Over time, and 4 years of college, she changed her mind and got married. Riker clearly had a change of heart, or perhaps had his fill of adventure on the Titan and decided to retire. To go from the advanced enterprise to a crappy looking house is terrible. I do hope that Riker is still in Starfleet. His career was everything to him as Picards was.
Crappy is subjective. I like it. Maybe Riker does too.So what’s with Rikers primitive looking house. I’ve seen more advanced looking home interior and exteriors in the mid 20th century homes. That's unfortunate reality creeping in...But the actor isn’t.

Presumably the starships are not just built in certain shape on a whim. Different technology necessitates a different looking hull. And I am certain it is meant to be an old ship, they would have chosen different look otherwise. All the grumbling about the Bird of prey is kind of surprising.
