Spoilers Season 3 Comic-Con reveals

Is anyone else wondering why the last scene of the trailer is framed to look like they are exchanging wedding vows?

(And on a separate note, what would a conversation between Tilly and Morn look like?)

I enjoyed the teaser. Nice to finally get a glimpse of what Discovery is in the future. I never saw Andromeda so this will be pretty new to me. I am excited to see the Andorians again.

The Federation has basically collapsed and it's up to the Discovery crew and a few new friends to restore it. This sounds really familiar and brings Kevin Sorbo to mind. Maybe because that was the plot to Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda.

My worst fears were realized; The Discovery writers are creatively bankrupt and are basically ripping off another Gene Roddenberry show. I wonder at which point Kevin Sorbo will guest star?

Gene Roddenberry must be spinning in his grave.

Is season 4 going to rip off Earth: Final Conflict or The Questor Tapes?

Because nothing has ever before been based on the decline of the Roman Empire?

Could it be perhaps that you have just watched way to many Sci-Fi shows/movies and nothing They do will satisfy you?
Or perhaps you just don't care for the folks running the show.
In which case, it's never going to please you.

Also, perhaps your expectations are a tad too high, in that your Head Canon Version of Trek is never going to appear with someone else doing it.
I learned a long time ago to just go with the flow, cause unless you're in charge, you'll just end up with ulcers fretting over it.

I liked the first two seasons and will watch season 3. Hopefully the writers can make me not care about the copy/paste job by doing their own interesting take.

Here's hoping. ;)

I have some speculation about how Season 3 will go, thanks to what we've seen in the trailer, but I'll keep it to myself for now.

It just feels like they're undermining the message of the franchise as a whole and I also wanted something original.
Well, the story Mr. Roddenberry wrote for Star Trek's second pilot was one about a fallen civilization that Kirk and Co. help to regain their values. It's called "The Omega Glory." And it is by far not the only treatment of fallen civilizations in TOS.
