I started about 10 minutes ago but you can rewind the stream The trailer they showed isn't on here, they cut away, but I assume it will be up after the panel TrekCore and probably TrekMovie are covering it on twitter if you can't watch the video Trailer description https://twitter.com/TrekCore/status/1180530202822221824
Text goes between the tags, not in them Also I put a spoiler tag in the thread title, you don't need to use tags. If they federation hadn't partially collapsed I'd be upset. Civilizations are not permanent. I don't expect any to last over 1000 years, not even the Federation
Embedded US version. Watched it very quickly and the fam is about to head out now. Will give thoughts later.
Interesting. So the Federation has endured, but only six member worlds (or a small number) remain. The Trill are either one of those members or at the least sympathetic to Burnham's cause. The Cardassians, Lurians, and Andorians seem to be part of a rival coalition. I...actually like this as a way to avoid a "Federation dystopia" or "fallen Federation" storyline. The Federation has endured, but it's struggling. Hopefully, that helps counter the obvious grievance, which would be that "All those prior stories were for nothing!" Personally, I would say that even if the Federation falls, that wouldn't negate the prior stories, but I can see where that might be criticism. Yeah, this is an interesting balance. I'll be curious to see why so many species have left.
I wonder if the Dominion is still around at this point, Given Weyoun's prediction. "The Dominion has endured for two thousand years, and will continue to endure long after the Federation has crumbled into dust..."
Someone mentioned “cardassians”. All I see is Lurians, Andorrans, Humans and Trill. I think the trill symbiot pools are a nice touch (only shown previously in DS9). The com badge on the rifle faction looks to have a Klingon touch to it but admittedly it is hard to see.

good catch!!! Looks like the writers have done some research. Guess I need to read some typhoon pact books.
The new Short Trek was up for a moment on CBS AA, then was taken down again. Not sure what's happening there. EDIT: It's up, but it doesn't work. Says "Ad Error." Really, CBS. Get it together!
