The Down Under Lounge

In a phone call earlier this year, Trump asked ScoMo to help find evidence to discredit the Mueller inquiry.

From the Australian government:

“The Australian government has always been ready to assist and co-operate with efforts to help shed further light on the matters under investigation. The PM confirmed his readiness once again in conversation with the President”

Sounds like an attempt to avoid an outright "yes" while sounding agreeable. Trying to arse-lick when the taste is terrible.

And it looks like Alexander Downer is going to be thrown under the bus for this

I can picture ScoMo on his knees for Trump

Oh and from Reddit.

For the thylacine to still exist it would have to be a big enough population for it to have for more than 80 years without a single species being captured or a single body found. Though the last know thylacine died in 1938 I think it probable that some existed until the 1950s and lay be even into the 60s but I think to have been around any later than that they population size would have been big enough for othering existence to be confirmed.

If they exist at all I think it would be an undiscovered population in New Guinea but I think that is very unlikely.

So the Roosters win the NRl grand final. Great defensively game from both teams. The game will be remember for that ref error where Canberra thought they had six again ... nope.

Yeah......Drama or idiots being manipulated.

That firefighter was a bit of a sook and they were acting like children.

Question from the blue. Can anyone name an Australian sci-fi TVshow? Any time since TV began. I’m sort of not counting Farscape because it was pretty much US driven. I know there are a lot of kid’s shows (Escape from/Return to Jupiter, and Spellbinder are the first to come to mind).

Here y'go.

In season 1 Farscape was very local in production being mostly done by channel 9 and the Jim Henson company.

I hadn’t really been thinking recent stuff, but thanks. That Planet of Fear looks interesting; I’ll check it out when I can
