I haven't seen Avengers: Endgame, but I thought he'd make his own version of Star Trek, not mash up TOS and Kelvin literally. If this is true. I hope this isn't the case. I wanted Pulp Fiction in Space and this doesn't sound like it. It could be, depending on the new footage, but...

    Eh.

If he did a new film with the tone of Pulp Fiction but with '60s-influenced aesthetics, that would sound more like his style. And something I'd look forward to.

I don't know why he'd want to have his 10th film essentially be a clip show. Unless he's going for dadaism.

The studio is clueless and hopeless for me.
We potentially have pulp fiction and gangsters in space + greatest hits of trek, with the kelvin characters being used as tools for self serving old trek nostalgia by an egomaniac guy who is proud of not getting the material. That's the best you can get? Really? Let me sleep.

On the plus side, if they DO intend to have Pine and Quinto play TOS Kirk and Spock, CBS already have a bunch of reimagined TOS uniforms and sets laying around, so they can do it on the cheap.

Better keep kelvin and tos separated, imo. If they want tos Spock, they gotta use Ethan Peck now and a Kirk recast, or it's too confusing.
Otherwise, they'd have used Quinto for Discovery too (they can make him look younger), instead of having to find a new guy that could play the discovery version of Quinto's Spock [frankly. Disco-Spock has far more in common with Quinto's Spock than Nimoy's, and it's ok because kelvin Spock is more recent so of course his 'appeal' informed the latest iteration of Spock more - just like Discovery itself is more inspired by kelvin trek than a show made in the 60s - I just find it hysterical that people argued about which one was more a clone of Nimoy or believable as tos Spock, especially those who hate Quinto's version and find him ooc. The irony.)

I think that when it comes to the general audience and the audience the movies have, they likely want to see this cast playing the kelvin characters as usual - or there is no point for them.
If you want to use the tos version of the crew, and (too soon imo) test people's interest about that, it's discovery's audience you are really trying to get on board this time and those fans most likely expect you to use Peck for that Spock. However, if you bring back Peck, that audience probably wants that Pike too rather than new Kirk.

Basically, if they want a prime timeline movie they can only make one with the Spock and Pike from Discovery. However, I'm not sure the majority of the audience that movies have would be willing to trade a continuation of kelvin trek, thus this cast, for something about the quest stars of a TV show only available through streaming services. However popular such a show can be nowadays, it's still a big risk.

-would you do Tarantinos Star Trek if he asked you to come onboard?'
    Brad Pitt: hell yeh!

Reminds me of the build up to ST09 and various Alisters rumoured to be attached like Crowe, Cruise, Matt Damon etc getting asked if they'd do Trek .. its like StarTrek coming into the big league again :)

If they won't pay Pine and Hemsworth at 2016 rates, I can't see how they'd pay the likes of Pitt.

Not interested in this if report is true. Had enough of Back To The Future 2 w Endgame.....

Write your own org Trek story vs. Greatest hits....geez. need to go route of TOS having very good Sci fi writers generate stories/scripts vs. Current clueless Hollywood "producers" & like who have zero clue. Felt QT would have something much better than this, his stories are original at the least.

    Paramount is rudderless wow

P.S. zero issues using Kelvin cast in a TOS movie. Easy transition n very good cast

If this report is to be believed, Paramount want to make another offer to Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth to make the SJ Clarkson Star Trek 4 once Wonder Woman hits theatres. I'm taking it with a USS Vengeance-sized pinch of salt.

If there's any truth to that, I've no clue what it means for the Tarantino Trek project.

    WTF??!!

I had a feeling Paramount wouldn't be able to resist the Endgame effect (and coming WW84) for the asses on seats combo of Hemsworth/Pine..

    This is a mess.

I wonder if Kurtzman/Secret Hideout will oversee the movie franchise too when the merger is done?

First, We Got This Covered is a fucking lying clickbait site. Anyone who takes one of their articles seriously is deeply misled.

Second, whatever Tarantino wants to do with Star Trek or anything else is fine with me. He's brilliant, which no one associated with Trek has been in quite a long time.

Brad Pitt as Kirk? Seems like a natural, really.

the notion of 'Trek Thor' firing up again pretty out there. I mean the evidence is there multiple times in Hemsworths and Pines non Thor/non Trek movies that putting these guys in movies thinking they'll be hits due to having them just dosnt work. and Star Trek movies seem to have a ceiling no matter what. so expecting ST4 to do well purely because Hemsworth & Pine are there is misguided. going with Tarantino is a far better bet for name recognition helping the movie

if Tarantino directs id expect cameos from QT vets like Pitt, SLJ etc as aliens, admirals etc just for fun so they can say they've been in 'star trek'

Thought I heard from youtube videos and or article around the merger time that if Bad Robot makes another movie in certain time frame they have rights renewed to new movies under the alt license for another set of years. The reports were speculation I believe, but if true No Thanks.

As for Klutzman n cbs hopefully they wake up. Discovery not going well at all despite what they try to say. All for updating Trek, but people who actually know n Love it. Hopeful for Picard n will give an honest shot, fingers crossed

Imagine if someone could come along and make for Star Trek what Joker was for Batman movies. It'll never happen, but one can imagine...

With both Gemini Man and Terminator as flops so I expect them to get the Pine/Thor movie happen. Of course it could be directed by Micheal Bay and he has made so much money for them. Jason
