The Picard Paradox

Not how the First Amendment works at all. It only protects your freedom of speech against the government. Private companies can tell you to sit down and shut up any time they want.
It’s amazing how many people don’t know that. I’m not even American and I know that from a high school American history course.

Though in game material treats it as an alternate timeline created via Nero, not a completely separate universe.

Probably a disconnect between the writers and the art team.
My guess is that with the Dev's having to start including stuff from DISCOVERY Season-3 and PICARD, that will probably change again.

Also private individuals.
And of course, messageboards like this one, which are ALSO private entities, not public ones.

And you can respond to their rudeness by not buying their products.
Yes, but they are not violating your rights by being rude. But, absolutely, a consumer cannot buy the product. That's the nature of the free market.

The Constitution is not well understood in America. There is a lot of myths that run around about it, and Free Speech is probably the top of the list, and not just because it is the First Amendment.

Edison's comment about "fraternizing with the enemy" must have referred specifically to the Xindi.

Kor

That, or the Federation's attempts to hold peace talks with enemies like the Klingons. Even in the Prime Timeline while the Klingons went largely into isolation between the end of ENT and 2256 as explained in "The Vulcan Hello(DSC)" there were still occasional border raids and attacks and there must have been some effort to sit down and break bread with the Empire to put a stop to all of the pointless border violence. Edison could have been referring to several different species that United Earth and/or the Federation were at first enemies of but later tried to reach peace treaties with.

Yeah, the 2nd gets abused a whole bunch also.

One time, when I was a moderator, I gave someone a warning, and then they acted like I was encroaching on their rights, and went on and on and on about how issuing warnings didn't give me true power over people. To that I responded with, "You're right, I don't have power over anyone, but I can do the job I'm supposed to do here."

Except in this case, CBS has not been “rude” to said TrekBBS member. Said TrekBBS member feels slighted because CBS isn’t producing the exact show he wants, and therefore has concluded that CBS actually owes him personally even though CBS never agreed to produce their show exclusively for him.
