Georgiou’s return to 2257

Just reveal that the original Georgiou was not dead after all but has been held captive on Rura Penthe. Have her to return and be the lead of the show. Except not S31 show, ditch that crap along with the mirror nonsense and let her be the star of a proper Star Trek show. If they're not doing the Pike spin-off, they can give Georgiou the command of a Constitution class ship so that they can use the assets made for the Enterprise.

:techman:

And before anybody brings up L'Rell's comments about eating Prime Georgiou, we never actually see this happen. For all we know, L'Rell was just bullshitting everyone to try and scare them.

What about her comment in private to Voq about watching him eat the flesh from her skull? ;)

What's the big deal here.

- TOS: S1 - "Tomorrow Is Yesterday" - Kirk and Co. return from 1967 to their time.

- TOS S2 - "Assignment Earth" - Kirk and Co. DELIBERATELY travel to 1668 and back again.

So, yeah, Empress Georgiou being able to return from the 32nd century back to the 23rd....<Yawn> (IE - No big deal).

Hell, maybe they WILL have the U.S.S> Discovery (and all aboard) return as well at some point; but again, time travel in Star Trek has always been fluid, and used to serve whatever story plot point needed. :)

My own theory is that the crew does eventually find a way to return to their own time, but in doing so they have to leave Discovery behind where Craft eventually finds it.

Kind of my theory too. I think it'll be something like where they uplifted the Discovery with as much 32nd century technology as they could just to give them a fighting chance. But then they discover how assessable time travel is at that point in the future and figure out how to get back, but since Discovery has all that future technology on it now, they can't bring it back to the 23rd century without fudging up the timeline. So they leave it there.

If the sphere data somehow buggers off on its own merry way, then there's no reason Discovery can't come back. That just leaves the spore drive as a "canon issue" but I don't think that's a big deal, it could be dealt with in any number of ways (kept a secret, Staments dies, the spore beings somehow figure out a way to prevent access to the network, etc.).

We won't have to speculate how Giorgiou gets back to 2257, because I don't think she left that time in the first place

They have a green light for this show, have they?

Well then, at least a pilot script?

Uh-huh.

The Department of Temporal Investigations stops Discovery from returning because it'd mess up the timeline. Now we know who the villains of season 3 are. :P

They've already written the story for it, they started penning it last year.

She was on the ship when it went into the future, you see here there.

From memory, she wasn't seen after the run in with Leland in the Spore Chamber.
I could be wrong, but it would make it easier for the writers if she never went to the future at all.

Huh? None of the crew of the Discovery was seen after the events in the Spore chamber. At that point, they followed Burnham into the anomaly/rift/whatever and the scene shifted to the aftermath shifted to Starfleet interrogating the Command staff of the Enterprise and Pike/S[pock wondering if they made it - and then the whole 6 months later epilogue where they see a burst in the area the Terralysium.

As for Michelle Yeoh and ST: D season 3 - there's this Instagram post from her official account where it even has the hashtag '#Section31':

That's correct
But the supposed upcoming Section 31 show had Georgiou as the central character, so in order to do that she would either have had to escape Discovery before it went to the future, or somehow get back from the future to do the S31 gig.
We'll just have to wait and see.

Sorry, not last year. I forgot it was only announced in January, it feels longer than that.

Here is a quote from Kurtzman from February this year
https://trekmovie.com/2019/02/06/writing-for-star-trek-section-31-series-has-already-started/
"Erika [Lippoldt] and Boey [Kim], who are two of our writers on Discovery, are breaking story on [Section 31] right now and the plan is to shoot that the second we’re done with [Discovery] season 3."

That's correct

Well she's in Season 3, that's confirmed.
