I tip my cap to how Dak Prescott is handling the business/playing sides of things during negotiations for a new contract.

Went out and got insurance to protect potential lost earnings, and is getting his game on.

Not sure most of the players on the roster now even know what a football is. At least Brian Flores got a shot at being a head coach. It will likely be his last.

You can't deal with every player the same way. Just because the CBA gives a team or player the right to do something does not mean that player or team should exercise that right at any and every opportunity. That kind of thinking has been the ruin of many a team.

If the Raiders' plan was really to start the season with Brown as of Friday, then sending him the second fine letter and stripping his contract of guaranteed money, completely undercut that plan. If their intent was to let Brown and the team know that every player who was AWOL from practice would be fined, no exceptions, then they should have cut Brown on Friday, because there was no way he would agree to that. And if Gruden and Mayock were unaware of how AB would react, then that was their problem.

As adroitly as the Raiders handled the Mack trade, they botched the Brown experiment with equal precision. And why they didn't deny his request to be released temporarily and explore the trade market is anybodies' guess.

Browns sure did get brought back to earth. I felt surprising delight in Baker Mayfield getting his ass handed to him. But I did feel a little bad for OBJ. I've grown to like him quite a bit during this off season.

He is a brand new player to the organization. There is conduct that is unacceptable to creating a cohesive unit. And Brown was engaging in behavior not conducive to the team.

Sorry, I feel bad for Brown but he handled this situation in a very unprofessional manner.

Well, several Dolphins have already asked their agents to explore trades, so that went to hell awfully fast. They figured out they’re tanking and don’t want any of it, I suppose

I just hope Brian Flores didn’t sell his home in Foxboro.

yeah, shitty situation for him. If they were going to tank anyway, why fire your coach? Just let the current one continue to suck. Flores now is going to look like a loser when it's by design by management. Going to be tough to bounce back from, and it's not because he's doing a good or bad job, they're actively not trying to win as a program right now...

Jags trade a 2020 fifth round pick to Pittsburgh for QB Joshua Dobbs.

    Do I hear Super Bowl?!

    Yep, all fixed!

Also, Pats looked ok for game 1 :) Usually slow starters and takes a while to warm up, they look like the Super Bowl was last week.

They were up 27-9 at one point in the 4th quarter. How did this end up in a tie? Fuck Matt Patricia.

I do wonder if the Raiders and Gruden part ways if there’s another 4-12 type season?

Think of it! We could have Jon and Jay Gruden on Monday Night Football!

24-9. They traded field goals in OT.

I highly doubt Mark Davis is interested in eating $80 million.

Edit: Especially because he has, by far, the lowest personal net worth of any NFL owner.

I was thinking more a mutual parting of the ways. I agree that Davis wouldn’t fire Gruden, even if he went 0-16.

Not seeing Gruden give up and admit defeat, he's going to collect his 100 mill.

Yeah, he spent a decade-plus on ESPN fashioning himself as a quarterback guru (lol), he's not walking away from all that guaranteed money.
