Fun (?) fact, Patrick Stewart’s wife is actually about eleven years younger than Jeri Ryan.
That said... this is a terrible idea, hope the characters aren’t written in this direction, and not sure how/why anyone got that impression from one line of dialogue in a trailer.

Come to think of it, they can be vulnerable to each other in a way they can’t be with anyone else. Not saying it’s a good idea, more that it’s plausible. Picard is somebody who understands her emotions about the Borg in a way nobody on Voyager can.
More likely though he recruits her as an obvious candidate for a Borg mission.
Another interesting idea that they use the Borg’s data on Data to revive him. Not sure how the Borg could have sent that Data to the modern collective but I guess they could have recovered something from the wreck.

I know trailers usually are a bit deceiving, but I got the impression that Seven came looking for Picard, not the other way around.
She hasn’t been proud of it since early season 4. As early as retrospect she saw herself as a tool of mass murder.
Fun fact: Seven of Nine and Wesley Crusher are about the same age. Seven was born one year after Wesley. Seven of Nine is literally young enough to be Picard's daughter. In fact, since Picard was born in 2305 and Seven in 2349, he is, at 44 years older than her, technically old enough to be her grandfather.

I'm not gonna sit here and judge Sir Patrick for his life choices, but, um, I really, really don't want to see Jean-Luc Picard getting involved with a woman young enough to be the child of his child.

That's one side benefit of the Picard show, we can finally give Seven a better canonical ending than Chakotay.

They just become separate universe stories.

Depends on what stories the current batch of Authors want to tell and what direction CBS wants to go.
The Novels have changed course many times through the years as new Official Info was added to the Trek Lore.
