Theory: Picard and Seven were or still are in a romantic relationship??

Were or are Picard and Seven ever in a romantic relationship?

Well... Seven had that tendency to make acerbic remarks. They tended to be pretty good, IMO.
I'm not sure I would describe that as "sarcasm," though.

"A peanut butter and jelly sandwich, perhaps." Zing!

It might be a finer line between sarcastic and snotty than I thought ;)

Fun (?) fact, Patrick Stewart’s wife is actually about eleven years younger than Jeri Ryan.

That said... this is a terrible idea, hope the characters aren’t written in this direction, and not sure how/why anyone got that impression from one line of dialogue in a trailer.

A back up of Loctus is still part of the Collective.

A back up of Seven of Nine is Still part of the collective.

If a driving force of the Queens actions in First Contact was a back up of Locutus, wanting to tie up Data, blow on his arm hair and marry the android...

Picard secretly wants to bang Data?

Come to think of it, they can be vulnerable to each other in a way they can’t be with anyone else. Not saying it’s a good idea, more that it’s plausible. Picard is somebody who understands her emotions about the Borg in a way nobody on Voyager can.

More likely though he recruits her as an obvious candidate for a Borg mission.

Another interesting idea that they use the Borg’s data on Data to revive him. Not sure how the Borg could have sent that Data to the modern collective but I guess they could have recovered something from the wreck.

I know trailers usually are a bit deceiving, but I got the impression that Seven came looking for Picard, not the other way around.

There's a nice contrast for the two characters. For Picard, he was a Borg for a few days, but it changed his life, he's haunted by it and ashamed of it. For Seven, it was her life, and she's proud of her time as Borg.

She hasn’t been proud of it since early season 4. As early as retrospect she saw herself as a tool of mass murder.

She may have regrets or guilt about things she was involved in, but she continues to take pride in her Borghood from time to time, which is as it would be.

Fun fact: Seven of Nine and Wesley Crusher are about the same age. Seven was born one year after Wesley. Seven of Nine is literally young enough to be Picard's daughter. In fact, since Picard was born in 2305 and Seven in 2349, he is, at 44 years older than her, technically old enough to be her grandfather.

Yeah, Sir Patrick is 39 years older than his current wife. She is younger than both of his children.

I'm not gonna sit here and judge Sir Patrick for his life choices, but, um, I really, really don't want to see Jean-Luc Picard getting involved with a woman young enough to be the child of his child.

I'm pretty sure you have nothing to worry about, besides whatever is going through the mind of the OP.

That's one side benefit of the Picard show, we can finally give Seven a better canonical ending than Chakotay.

The one aspect of Borghood she does take some pride in is the pursuit of perfection.

Does this mean the novels have to change to reflect the show? (No more reprints of Star Trek Destiny?)

Doubtful.
They just become separate universe stories.

And new novels will be published with the new details incorporated.
:techman:

So the present novelverse will no longer continue?
Depends on what stories the current batch of Authors want to tell and what direction CBS wants to go.

The Novels have changed course many times through the years as new Official Info was added to the Trek Lore.

Yes but the relaunch novels are episodic and each area linked
