Marvel films, it's time for a Black female lead

No the problem is that we live in an outrage culture and people just want to jump on what I Say. If there was a black person in Star Trek, it really doesn't have the effect on the person does it? I mean they only mention Sisko's race twice. And even if the story is set in today's world, if I'm watching a blockbuster film, I don't want to be forcefed some kind of message. Sure if a character is female then make them female don't make them female because you have to fill a political checkbox
Star Trek is a really bad example, because the whole point of Star Trek is that it is an ideal utopia where things like race don't matter.
If we are talking about stuff set in the modern day then it has to matter, it is such a major part of what a person's life is in this day and age that if the character is going to be realistically developed then their race or sex or whatever can't just be ignored.

If I may point out though, DS9 is actually an excellent example. Avery Brooks and Cirroc Lofton pushed hard for their characters to be developed as a Black family living in the 23rd century. It may seem quaint today but at the time it was a big deal. There background in Louisiana, their cultural interests, the way they interacted with each other. Furthermore Far Beyond the Stars was a huge culturally poignant moment for Star Trek.

Exactly. Also, especially later in the series, much of Sisko's and Jake's off-duty clothing reflected their African heritage. It looked good, and made sense for the characters, too.

No.

The problem, in this topic, is that you don't say anything that you can defend logically and with evidence, and you keep repeating the same tired talking points.

I'd say we're less outraged than weary and more than a little bored with what you post.

If you have anything to say that you can support with facts other than "I personally don't like this," you should bring it out now.

but I did.. you conveniently don't quote me when I did.
It seems that everything is all about hashtags.. everything has to be an issue. Too little diversity, too much diversity.. it's all in hashtags

There is a solution to the issue, for the next decade Hollywood should ignore the ethnic minority called 'white male character' and focus on the rest of the human race, that will make movies a little less diverse. Then you will not need to worry about immersing yourself in the story.

No, actually you've never backed up your claims in any credible way. Occasionally you paste something from somewhere like Twitter that you seem to think support your positions, but you're mistaken.

And when you're called on it you wander off into pointless, evasive broad maunderings like "it's all in hashtags."

I mean, you don't like diverse casting of some things because it upsets your expectations. That's all you've demonstrated so far.

Wanda wasn’t old enough to have a teenage kid in the comics either.
I’m no expert in genetics but I think Wanda might be able to contribute the silver hair gene all by herself

Sure, if Magneto is her father, which as of recently he still may not be.

(Comics say they are inhuman. You know that.)

Which means that AGAIN Polaris and Quicksilver in Peter David's seminal X-Factor are not brother and sister... And such a huge deal was made about the inhuman (a real looker in the awful and failed Inhumans TV show.) princess marrying a dirty earthbound Mutant.

Ultimate Scarlet Witch and Ultimate Quicksilver were ultimate all over each other.

Remember, there's no such thing as Chaos Magic.

If Petey has the gene, then Wanda can too. She doesn't have to have the silver hair to be a carrier.

Peter David is overrated.

Ultimate Scarlet Witch and Ultimate Quicksilver were ultimate all over each other.
The Ultimate Universe was 95% suckage.

Remember, there's no such thing as Chaos Magic.
This year. Who knows what next year will bring?

Have you forgotten what Far Beyond the Stars is?

It's an evil plot by the baddies to brain wash Sisko into renouncing the Prophets.

The Paugh Wraiths put a lot of effort into building that world for Sisko.

(Pick one of the below)

1. The land scape was drawn from Sisko's local knowledge.
2. The Paugh Wraiths are woke.
3. After Sisko is a Prophet, he is a Paugh Wraith.

She might not only be a carrier.

Women vain.

Children mean.

As soon as able, the young lady with old lady hair is going throw money at a hair dresser to take 60 years off her appearance.

Carpets, drapes.

Platinum blondes have more fun. Wanda is fun impaired but a not a dour Debbie Downer like Petey.
