The Down Under Lounge

"Ms Bange said the event had become too focused on "commercialism" in recent years, and wanted local charity or church groups to take a greater role in organising it."

Plus, the cost.

Anyway there seems to be a lot of factors there the main one being they want to revamp how the entire costly procedure is done and what the focus is. So your dramatic headline doesn't cover it .

In Australia, KFC is trialing going back to its full name, Kentucky Fried Chicken. Apparently they’re revelling in the unhealthiness of their product.

They have been destroyed in Melbourne at least by the complete takeover of Korean Fried Chicken which is far tastier and better value and increasingly everywhere in different sizes and price ranges.

so barnaby joyce claims he's skint, can't live on $212k a year and alimony is killing him.

well sucks to be that sack of shit.

nobody made him have an affair, he's benefitted from tax cuts big time, he probably gets more than $212,000 as politicians get to keep what's left of any parliamentary allowance.

he's also been part of a government that that has well and truly kicked the little end of town in the teeth with things like abolishing penalty rates (which has seen zilch in the way of job creation).

joyce can go fuck himself.

Oh and perhaps he should be put on the welfare card to make sure he's not wasting money on unnecessary things.

In the bit I saw on TV last night he claimed he had to turn off things like home heating.

What a sack of crap. He can give me half and in return I'll show him how to live on less than a quarter of it.

At least it's encouraged him to think, "How do people on Newstart survive? Time to raise it!"

It's the only thing I agree with him on.

So the Fuckwit PM thinks that random drug testing of Newstart people will achieve something. Gonna be rolled out in 3 random spots.

I think the only reason Barnaby Joyce has voiced support for a rise for people on NewStart is so that his party can put everyone on NewStrat onto the Cashless Debit Card as a condition of them getting the raise - in other words he want to make those with shares in Indue richer.

Also he has other sources of income besides his parliamentarian salary. According to this site he has a net worth of $18 million dollars. I wish I was that sort of poor.

But he's still crying poor ..... Go figure.

Can I pinch your first paragraph?

But of course .... No idea what that achieves but hey he is a fuckwit.

This bloody weather! I left Bathurst Friday morning just ahead of the wave of sleet, snow and ice sweeping the lower half of NSW. I'm back on the Central Coast and i can't recall it ever being so cold. But climate change is not a thing.

I sometimes wonder if we'll survive the Government.

Yes. Did anyone see Scomo's comments on suicide? What did he say that has people upset with him?

Not as cold further north but the wind here is insane, lots of cancelled flights, surprised the back fence hasn't blown over yet.

It's been extremely freezing! Like, in shock lolol..

it has.... Brrrrrrrrrrr

On top of that my arthritis or whatever I have has played merry hell this week and I couldn't walk properly or bend with my back in constant pain. I just discovered panadol osteo tablets and they seem to help.

Ah I found that video addressing Scott Morrison's comments

Yeah, I've been hit with the robodebt thing too, will have to start sorting that out tomorrow.

And have to find a place to live. And sort out my tax. And a bunch of other stuff. Hey ho. When I took on the assignment I knew the risks.

@Cyanide Muffin try the ibuprofen/paracetemol tablets, they're good for pain management. My preferred poison since I slipped over on tiles at my kid's and tore my ACL (which probably means me footy career is over). If pain persists consult your GP.
The new series Les Norton 2nd ep is on ABCTV tonight, first ep available on iView.
Precis:
Les Norton is set in 1985 and follows the exploits of Les Norton, a country bloke from outback Queensland, on the run from a troubled past. He arrives in Sydney, where he lands a job as a bouncer at an illegal casino. While he is desperate to return home, he finds himself seduced by the city's illicit charms and is dragged into the web of underground crime.

I love the books this is based on. The thing that always surprised me was, when I saw people reading the books, filled with sex, violence and then more violence, on the train, they were more often young and middle aged women. I do recommend them if you are very Aussie, like a bit of biff, rumpy pumpy, and some damn funny lines.
