New Picard SDCC Trailer

I have to work this out on my own

I believe that's the case in the real world too, that generals and admirals can customize their uniforms. I'm not sure how many stars are needed.
My dad told me about how when he was stationed at an army base, some visiting general was wearing this really old-fashioned uniform that everybody thought was the stupidest thing they had ever seen.

Edit: typo in my own username :scream:

Kir
And absolutely nobody is going to say a goddamn word about it. All right around 8

When has televised Trek not had young good looking actors?

I think it means "I was young when TOS/TNG were on so didn't notice as they were older then me. Now I'm old so I notice how young and hot the new actors are."

When do TV and films not hire telegenic actors? Unless it's for a "character" role.

Evan Evagora is hot.

I commented on his hotness on my insta story and he saw it . He's also Australian, and my friend claims to know him.
Yeah, I'm assuming this means he gets killed off in episode one, just like Disco hottie Sam Vartholomeos.

I guess that - all things considered - DS9 had the least sexy main cast. Avery Brooks didn't really get his groove back until he got the goatee and went bald. Cirroc Lofton was a kid. Rene Auberjonois, Armin Shimerman, and Michael Dorn were hidden under makeup. Colm Meaney is just an average guy in terms of his looks (that's his whole appeal). Really Alexander Siddig was the only pretty boy among the main cast.

Though of course the female characters all had to be attractive. Trek - like most TV shows - won't think to cast an average-looking woman in a main role (honestly Mary Wiseman is probably the closest we've gotten - and like most non-hot women, she's the comic relief).

The '25% different' crowd seems to be moving goalposts now, I had someone tell me that it only applies to productions that take place between Enterprise and TOS, which is why Picard looks more 'faithful'.
Well, DSC not takes place after TOS, so I imagine they'll recreate all the sets to be perfectly in line with TOS. :D

I have always been of the opinion that the 25 percent different was an edict handed to eaves to make sure a new license would be needed for DSC enterprise models.

I would not be surprised to see the E E has had a bit of a refit should it appear on screen in Picard.

I've always been of the opinion that the look of Star Trek made from 1979 on would be less modified than TOS, if at all.

The look of:
TOS --> We already know about.
TOS Movies and TNG --> I think might be modified in some cases.
TNG Movies, DS9, VOY, and ENT --> I don't think they'll be changed at all.

Why? Because TOS is the only Star Trek to be created pre-Star Wars and pre-2001: A Space Odyssey. And also because John Eaves designed most of the second half of the Berman Era.

The only gripe I have about this is now the TMP Enterprise bridge looks puny and simplistic compared to the Disco Enterprise bridge. But that may not be such a bad thing. Maybe they streamlined. I think the Disco Enterprise bridge, by integrating the TOS aesthetic into the general DSC aesthetic, looks too busy. I think it's trying too hard to split the difference.

On another note...

I think Worf looks hot. And Odo looks good in an alien older guy sort of way. That's my non-straight perspective.

What on earth is their justification for that
