You'll have to wait a few months for some outrage to come along
Oh, people didn't wait to be outraged by Discovery until it aired. Why wait for Picard?

And given that Stewart had very rigid rules about what he wanted the show NOT to be - no wearing a SF uniform, not showing a reunion of the full crew, not it being a retread of TNG, I think it's safe to say it's not going to feature "love letter" style fan service just for the sake of it.
My crazy fan theory number 3...
... and I swear I have no idea, so if I'm right here then, no spoilers intended, it's an absolute fluke...
... the young people are the *literal* Next Generation. A group of children from the Enterprise D, maybe the very same ones whose names are on the Captain Picard Day banner in the trailer, who have grown up and tracked down the man who is a living legend to them, to be 'their Captain' one more time on whatever dangerous mission they're on. That's why the Romulan hints at him "becoming the Captain they want you to be", why Picard recalls this particilar young lady as special, perhaps in link to a Borg incident, why he says "Engage" in the particular way he does, it's a kind of 'Galaxy Quest' esque story about a reluctant hero having to live up to his reputation, tying way back to Picard's worry about 'being put on a ship in charge of children' and having to be seen as a role model as mentioned way back in TNG's pilot episode.
Watch the trailer again with this in mind, and tell me it isn't possible.![]()
Well, she's not a main character, she's recurring at best. Being in two scenes doesn't make you a "main character."

To my initial point, dredging up very minor yet very specific plot points from musty old Voyager episodes is not something that anyone working on the show is going to be interested in, nor is it the way to make a fresh and accessible show to a wide audience.
Why do people still insist on this 15% 25% nonsense.
TOS
TNG
DS9
VOY
DIS
Picard
Are all in the same timeline/universe.
Other than the fact there's many, clear and large differences between TOS-Voyager and DIS/Picard, yeah they're in the "same universe."

Even though I'm Team Disco, after today I think Team Picard would make good allies. Some of us might disagree about Discovery but I think if we can just accept where we stand "is what it is" and look passed it, we can work together pretty well in regards to Picard and in general. I can see this happening.
How about it?
Being a Picard show, having Patrick Stewart, Spiner, Jeri, etc will probably not make it any less divisive. A bunch of people will love it. A bunch will hate it. And we'll all argue about it for a few years
.
I've always felt like the latest installment gets the most grief, but when the succeeding series comes along, it takes all the heat off the previous one. although, I'm sure this series has a bit more good will going for it at this point.
Ignoring the visual changes,
I think that your story is better and deeper than anything these writers could have hoped to have come up with.
Just my opinion.
That's disingenuous. Production designs, worldbuilding details, even character backstories changed between series and series, hell, sometimes even within the show.Other than the fact there's many, clear and large differences between TOS-Voyager and DIS/Picard, yeah they're in the "same universe."

Tim Russ made a fan film?I would think that CBS can steal Tim Russ’s idea and Tim Russ wouldn’t be able to do jack about it because Tim Russ made a fan film based on CBS’s intellectual property.
Maybe Picard will team up with Dropo to get the kids Mars to believe in Santie Claus. JasonIt's Children of Mars, not Queen.
Yes because I think that it sounds like a way too much fan wank......although I will admit it makes me wonder about the banner being present. I just think it would be unrealistic for the entire crew......@Lance might be onto something with one of them saving the banner and being part of the mission. We will see.
I don’t think so. That appears to be the interior of a ship, or a building that isn’t his houseIn the same shot as the banner you can see some of the awards that were on show at the Picard museum display, so it’s more likely to be Picard that has the banner.
Its set in 2399, so yes it’s still technically the 24th centuryWouldn't it be a 25th century?
....So in other news. Is Picard really a 24th century show? Wouldn't it be a 25th century?
Poor Enterprise...
Tim Russ made a fan film?
Depends on the source, it is either 2399 or 2402. Probably one of the reasons we still don’t have a subforum, admins don’t know how to label the show.....So in other news. Is Picard really a 24th century show? Wouldn't it be a 25th century?
Well, Enterprise is a special case because it's the only show that's canon in both Prime and Kelvin verse. My bad I forgot ENT but add it too the list
we also know there have been... reshoots along the way,
