I think she is going to be the grandaughter of Porkins. After ROJ Han tossed the Porkins family the keys to the Falcon to go out and make a life for themselves. This is why the ship just happened to be their in Force Awakens. Jason

Make be wonder if Porkins was at Scarrif, or if we was one of the replacements sent from other units to reinforce Yavin's loses between battles.

Maybe he was part of what remained of Blue Squad and integrated into Red Squad due to their losses.

Wouldn't that make the new squad "Purple Squad"?

It would. They just didn't have time to order new helmets and jumpsuits.

The film likes to destroy old characters, introduce uninteresting new ones, create tonal shifts, editing issues, and is BORING

I disagree, I enjoyed the film the two times I saw it. But we are all looking for different things out of our entertainment.

I thought it’s the best film of the franchise because it was the first that tried to explore bigger issues than just light vs dark, rebel vs empire. It goes into the whole notion it being influenced by outside forces, like wealthy on Canto Bight funding and profiting from the civil wars over the years and some of what Luke said implied there was far more to the Force than what we’ve seen of the Jedi and Sith.

I respect your opinion, for sure, but I could not disagree more on multiple points, specifically boring. I was on the edge of my seat, especially towards the end.

We still don't know who the First Order really is (other than being on the receiving end of Yo Mama Jokes)...and they take us on detours to lecture us on the evils of the aristocracy? It's fine to broaden the canvas but set a real foundation first.

The First Order is clearly the remnants of the Empire that survived and still govern a piece of the galaxy. Like if remnants of the Nazi government had survived World War II and held onto a piece of Germany.

The Canto Bight stuff is where the film struggled for me. Nice idea that really needed a rewrite or two before filming.

Not to mention, for my taste, the production design wasn't alien enough. It was just a little too close to an Earth casino. But Lucas did that as well, the diner in AotC looked too much like a 50s diner.
