Based on the information so far the main Disney+ shows (Hawkeye, Loki, Scarlet Witch, etc) seem to be reasonable high budget shows that are intended to be fully integrated. Comments from Kevin Feige indicates we will see crossover movie actor appearances from the MCU in these shows (aside from the stars) and most of these characters (with the possible exception of Loki) would be expected to show up in future MCU movies. And while none of the leads might be on a RDJ or Chris Evans kind of salary, I imagine they'd still be pretty well reimbursed, indicating a reasonable budget level. Most importantly they're all pitched as limited episode series (I'd be guessing 6-10 episodes) so they can develop a story over a bigger than movie length time-frame spending enough money to fully realise the special effects but not needing to continue on for an unlimited number of episodes.

Yeah, I know. I'm just instinctively cautious after the complete 180 that happened to AoS. I'll feel better about it once we have actual shows to judge by rather than just plans and interviews.

As far as I'm aware the Disney+ shows will come under the Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige's control rather than the Marvel Entertainment banner and Ike Perlmutter which controls the existing shows. Assuming that's the case there's more reason for confidence.

The Disney+ shows that are coming out aren't really normal TV shows, they're basically just miniseries to explain what happens to several major characters in the Post-Endgame world until the next movie comes out.

The Arrowverse frequently does comparable CGI effects with the Atom and the Elongated Man (in "Crisis on Earth-X," they even had the Atom mimic Kamala's trademark hand-embiggening move). They don't do them frequently, but they have to share screentime with a bunch of other CGI effects for other superpowered characters, creatures, etc. On a show where Ms. Marvel was the sole or primary hero, with a shorter season length and a bigger per-episode budget, they'd do fine.

Besides, her powers are secondary. I'm more concerned with them getting her characterization and relationships and community right. The comic has done that so well, with so much nuance, and it's a high bar to clear.

They have a other purposes than that*, but I do agree that they're not normal TV shows.

    * For example, one of the shows is an animated What-If show, which is exploring alternate stories rather than continuing the main story.

They're also a chance for secondary characters, who might not be a big enough deal to draw in big enough crowds for a successful movie, a chance to get the spotlight.
Well, other than Loki, he's probably got enough fan base at this point to bring in a pretty big crowd.

Donnie Yen seems like a natural pick to play Shang Chi's father, who I highly doubt will be Fu Manchu like he was in the comics.

Marvel no longer has the rights to use Fu Manchu. They would have to negotiate with the estate of Sax Rohmer to use him. In fact, whenever they use Shang-Chi's father in the comics now they use a different name while claiming he's used many names over the years.

Fan speculation has Marvel utilizing the "real Mandarin" plot thread established in "All Hail the King" to replace Fu Manchu with the Mandarin.

Yeah, I just meant that even if they did have the rights to use Fu Manchu, I doubt that they would.

Fu Manchu is in the public domain these days, so that would be less of an issue.

I think the name alone is reason enough not to use that character...

Yeah, there is just to much questionable history with that character to use him at all.

That was fantastic. Hopefully they'll update it with Endgame after the DVD comes out.

I actually don't understand why they didn't use any footage from Endgame. They used footage from the Far From Home trailer.

Yeah, I did notice that. A bit weird. I guess they wanted to wait until they had full access? I don't know...

Probably either wary of spoiling (it hasn't been out that long and spoiling the ffh trailer isn't anywhere near spoiling the biggest movie in the franchise) or just wanted to save all their Endgame material for when they're able to actually make an Endgame honest trailer.
