I kind of do. Old Indiana Jones just did not sit well with me, & Bruce Willis in the Death Wish remake was a misstep imho too. If he tried to do another Die Hard, I'd have no interest. I actually don't mind Linda as much as those though. I'm getting a sneaking suspicion that her presence in this one has some kind of finality to it, like she is destined to not make it out alive, in which case, I'm ok with an actor coming back to complete a role. Frankly, Ford & Hamill look like HELL in TFA, but they were brought back to complete their roles, not to reenergize them, so I was ok with it, I guess. In general, it's kind of sad to see an iconic character brought back to be all old looking. Even Arnie, man. What next, Conan? C'mon.

Now he's old enough to finally play the King Conan we saw in the first two movies.

I did. I thought Harrison Ford was ridiculous looking in the last Indy flick. I couldn't buy someone his age doing that kind of shit and thought they should've just James Bonded his ass, recast and kept Indy in the 1930's / 40's where he belongs.

I was rolling with the trailer right up until the ridiculous scene with the jets crashing into each other, which was a jumbled mess of bad CGI and bad action choreography that took you out of the moment. You can improve the CGI in post-production, but nothing is going to change the fact that there was too much nonsense happening all at once. I know Cameron is only an executive producer, but he was supposed to be keeping a firm hand on this, so I was surprised he would let such bad and muddled CGI slide, since that's usually his bread and butter.

Speaking of Camerons, I have to resist calling Mackenzie Davis Cameron based on her Halt and Catch Fire character, because between her, James Cameron, and Summer Glau's Cameron from Sarah Connor Chronicles, there are too many damn Camerons. I guess her character's name is Grace, and she supposed to be some kind of enhanced human Terminator, perhaps an upgrade of the early experiments with Sam Worthington in Salvation to create Terminators from existing humans.

Speaking of which, I like the continuity with the continuous progression of Terminator models even though the movies involve changing timelines and this is supposedly a follow-on to T2 that bypasses the subsequent three films and Sarah Connor Chronicles. Gabriel Luna's (who played Ghostrider in Agents of SHIELD) Terminator consists of a conventional metal chassis endoskeleton covered by a shapeshifting "skin", much like the female Terminator from T3. But where the T3 model was liquid metal over the endoskeleton and had to remain attached to function, this consists of nanites which can detach to form their own separate shapeshifting entity and thus create two distinct Terminators, which is a cool and logical improvement. The nanites might not have the same weaknesses as the liquid metal T-1000 did as well.

The film also borrows elements from the other films like Arnold's T-800 having lived in the past as a protector for decades to account for his aging skin. On the one hand it's nice that even though they overwriting previously established films, they're still incorporating elements of them that worked or are worth adapting. Although, did we really need another truck chase? There's one in every Terminator movie (even Salvation had the tow truck chase with the Moto-Terminators)

The choice of music for the trailer was superb and really set an ominous tone. It's an adaptation of Bjork's Hunter:

It was great seeing Linda Hamilton back again looking like a badass. I wonder if they'll simply ignore her cancer diagnosis from T3 and Sarah Connor Chronicles and Salvation or say she detected it early enough to treat it in this timeline. Looking forward to seeing her and Arnold in action together again.

Sarah said the young woman Mackenzie Davis' Terminator is protecting (played by Natalia Reyes) "was her" once, so I'm guessing that she must be either the new mother of the future Resistance leader (for a direct comparison to Sarah's role), or will eventually become that future leader herself after being mentored and trained by Sarah in Mexico again, much like she did with her son John. I like the idea that the future savior of humanity doesn't just have to be John Connor but can be anyone, and how that also plays off the previous film's development of Connor being possessed by SkyNet as a nano-terminator while still overwriting the events of that film.

All in all, despite some misgivings, I'm cautiously optimistic with the excellent cast, the return of Linda Hamilton and Arnold, the involvement of Cameron and the direction of Deadpool's Tim Miller.

Am the only one who thinks that scene with the characters in the hotel room is suppose to be the room were Sarah Connor made love with Reese creating John Connor. Which might be connected to why John Connor isn't in the movie.

Good catch. I don't know if it's the same as the Tiki Motel from Terminator, because a lot of time has passed and the room has a different layout (similar faux wood paneling and bed, though, and it still has old furniture and a rotary phone), but it's definitely meant to evoke that scene. They even have Sarah sitting on the bed in a similar manner.

Alternatively, it could be Sarah's mother's cabin in Big Bear that's also from Terminator, and that's where Arnold meets them in the trailer.

Honestly, I don't think Linda looks that bad. It's not like she ever fell in with the idyllic Hollywood beauty standard anyhow, & it's reasonable to note that those women her age in Hollywood (Most of whom were more of the idyllic type) Sela Ward, Dana Delaney, Kim Catrall, Bo Derek, who might look better than her, are women who've probably pursued treatments toward correcting or curtailing aging, whereas, she looks like she might not have. She looks like a normal 62 year old woman, who's worked & lived, & maybe who hasn't spent a fortune on looking good, to stay relevant in that industry, & for the character? It fits

I had no problem with how they looked, everyone ages. And Hamill did not finish up the role in TFA, he was a major character in the The Last Jedi, and he's coming back again in The Rise of Skywalker.
Aren't they doing a third one? Or did that fall apart?

That's when I also will most likely watch it. Or Amazon Prime. Not sure where it will land. What we saw in this teaser is not enough to make me want to go see it in a movie theater.

I guess I just don't get why it's even an issue. People get old. I think Linda looks great. It's not like she's supposed to be playing Sarah at 29.

Unrelated, one thing I really hope for (but I know I am in the minority) is that they keep "The Terminator theme" where in belongs...credits only. That scene in Genisys where the theme plays in an actual scene was lame as hell, and not just because the movie was in general. ;) I know a lot (most?) people just wanna hear that dun-dun dun dun-dun, but I dread it. (Opening and closing credits excepted though, I as I say.)

Everytime Sarah derails a Terminator, or a Terminator hits it's target, the Future changes and maybe the saviour changes, which should make her safe and her son safe from a different future alt version of Skynet who has no frakkin' idea who the Connors are.

That's true but if the first two movies still happen then it means John Connor should still be around in the world. Or Maybe he was killed so she has stayed in survivor mode because she knows Judgment Day can't be stopped or assumes it because he won't be around in the future to stop it but then she finds out another possible savior is around in the new character.

All future John needed to do to save the world was to nuke New York in the 1970s, and blame it on Aliens.

I think the issue for some people (mostly men) is that they see women as being there for their viewing pleasure only. It's OK for men to get old because that's natural and they get to see a positive future for themselves. But a woman in a movie needs to look attractive - for them. It never occurs to those people that the woman may not be appearing just for their personal pleasure.
