The connection is the supernova and events Spock Prime showed Jim in the mind-meld sequence. That all occurs between Nemesis and Picard.

It depends on how you define connection. Pedantic, but technically the Countdown comic and the supernova do not occur in the Kelvin universe.

LOL!!! So, there's a connection between Star Trek Picard and the movie Star Trek where the Spock Prime, NOT FROM TOS, mind melded with Kirk of the supernova and events?

Old Spock in ST09 is the same Spock from TOS.
Anyone telling you otherwise is lying or misinformed.

As I said, it depends on how one defines connection. Perhaps the poster assumed that connection meant occurred. It sounds like a miscommunication more than anything else. Certainly not worth a fuss...

They just misunderstood what you were asking.
Your original post wasn't very clear.

To put this in Back to the Future terms: Pretend 2387 is 2015. In "2015", Nero went back in time. Pretend 2233 is 1955. Nero/Biff created an Alternate Timeline. At some point after the alternate "1955", Nero destroyed the alternate Vulcan.

Romulus was destroyed in the "real" 2387 (just go with it). Vulcan was destroyed in the "alternate" 2258.

In the "real" 2399, Romulus was destroyed and Vulcan is still around.

I think it would be best not to assume and allow the poster to speak for himself, since he made the response to me originally and I in returned responded.

They're the Star Trek Online uniforms, which is set just after 2400. The series starts in 2399, we've seen All Good Things commbadges and now early versions of the games uniform design, it has nothing to do with the Kelvin universe.

It is an open forum and I am offering a different POV. Certainly this is not one that requires ire being raised, especially if it was a miscommunication.

They're asking if there is a connection to the movie, not the universe.
The destruction of Romulus comes from the movie, so that is a connection.

Of course you are but he seems to add things which doesn't dispute my original post which from what we've seen is obvious there's a connection between Star Trek Picard and the movie Star Trek.

It depends on their POV is my only point. It is not readily apparent what type of connection was implied in the initial post, which may have caused the dispute.

But, I'm sure I'm just assuming again ;)

You kept asking if the uniforms were from the Kelvin universe, several people have said no. The Hobus event created the Kelvin universe, but branched from there.

Prime (our) Spock would simply have seemed to have given his life to save everyone from Picard's point of view. It'll be mentioned briefly in the pilot, then move on to dealing with the fallout this side of the branch with the Romulan Empire falling apart.
