Discovery Season 3 Easter Egg Could Suggest the Future Federation Is Evil

Discovery must become a galactic boombox, both jumping and blaring music across the entire galaxy to take down the evil Federation in *that sequence* from Beyond made an entire season.

Never been a huge fan of nuance, myself. IMHO, it's overrated.

 

Nothing lasts forever, even the Federation as we know it. It's entirely possible that it will evolve into something evil given enough time. Even in the 24th century, some do see it as evil.

 

"Is this what we've become? The 24th Century Rome? Caesar can do no wrong!"

"In some ways you're even worse than the Borg. At least they tell you about their plans to assimilate you. You're more insidious. You assimilate people without them even realizing it."

Or my personal favorite, even though it's the 23rd Century:

"Inalien? If you could only hear yourselves. Human Rights. The very name is racist. The Federation is nothing more than a Homo Sapiens Only Club."

 

You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain.

I've thought for a while, now, that a story based on the opposite of this premise might be interesting - you either die a villain or live long enough to see yourself become the hero.

Come to think of it, that might sort of be the plot of the Georgiou spin-off.
