I'm just at a loss for the whole thing. Why is equal representation such a bad thing?

It's not even equal. It's one scene (and a CM movie and a handful of subplots for Widow/Wasp/Scarlet Witch) up against the entire remainder of the MCU. And most of the superhero movies outside the MCU, as well. Which is probably part of the problem. It's as much gatekeeping as anything else. 'No gurls allowed' in the sad little clubhouse because change is scary and girls have cooties.

Gatekeeping. The struggle is real.

Watched the film for the 3rd time today. Might need see it a 4th.
Definitely sure that the past times Captain America goes back to are alternate timelines after listening to the Ancient one and Professor Hulk talk again. Hulk is basically talking about protecting the alternate timelines from turning into another alternate branch timeline from stone removal.

No problem with glory comic book shots. Kevin Feige picks out comic pages to put on film. It's supposed to bring the pages to life.

Still don't see the problem with the all female avengers shot. If women can take a group photo together why can't superhero women?
Actually, I'd like to see a female Avenger's movie. I like these characters.

BTW, I think people should stop calling the green guy in this movie “Hulk.” He doesn’t like smashing or fighting, and he never calls anyone puny or boasts about being the strongest there is. There is none of Hulk’s personality in this character. He’s just a big green Bruce Banner.

Has to be. If we go with the “Old Cap was there in the background all along” theory, it means he kept the Hydra infiltration of SHIELD a secret from Peggy. Which is kind of disgusting.

And he'd also take the fight to the Russian/Leviathan wing of HYDRA to save the alternate versions of Bucky and Natasha from being enslaved supersoldiers (and by extension the many lives they were forced to unlawfully take).

I watched Black Panther four times at the cinema. Infinity War and Endgame twice apiece and I'll probably watch Endgame third time before it leaves the cinema.
Doesn't repeated viewings of a movie highlight a film's flaws more and spoil your viewing enjoyment? I like to leave a film for a few years before coming back to it.

Oh, it's a far more intellectualized form of assholery.

They see traditional male/female relationships with the male being the powerful breadwinner and the woman being quiet and obedient as the natural way of living, and they see feminism as destroying that natural way of living, taking away their male birthright to be powerful and have women obey them. Thus any woman, in any movie who makes decisions for herself or accomplishes something for herself is a "Masculinized woman", who has been placed in the movie as feminist propaganda to destroy the natural way of living and take away their male birthright.

I'll catch it on Disney+ when it comes in November. As good and epic movie this was, I sure ain't paying more than once for it while it's still in theaters.
I'm the same way, I see a movie once in theaters, and then if I liked I'll usually watch it at least once more once either on DVD/Blu-Ray or one of the streaming servcies.

Ever since Force Awakens came out and showed how even sacred cow geek series like SW were now being "desecrated" by female leads, comic readers and other "proud geeks" have been determined to not let it happen to other series they like which include the MCU.

It's a version of Professor Hulk from the comics

I understand how it happened. I don’t understand how anyone can be so afraid of not being the center of attention... culturally and racially speaking. It’s just pathetic.

Clocking in at just 1 hour, 25 minutes and 30 seconds, the cut manages to erase more than half the film’s runtime, which in and of itself is a remarkable effort. A truly demented one, sure. But a remarkable one nonetheless.
