I meant Captain America saying 'Avengers Assemble' when the two armies are about to fight in Endgame. I loved the shot you're talking about from 'The Avengers' as it was 100% payoff.

I don’t know, they’ve been setting up and teasing an Avengers Assemble scene for years. AoU ends on Cap getting cut off as he says it. If it were ever going to happen, it needed to happen in Endgame. Especially since it’s the most famous phrase associated with the Avengers.

You know, thinking about it, maybe the all-female hero shot was a bit gratuitous and obvious.

You know what it was like? It was like a two-page splash panel in a comic book.

    ... Wait

A scene like a comic book panel in a comic book movie? My god what is the world coming to?

Thanos should have responded by rallying the survivors of his home planet with, “Titans, go!”

I don't know about that, because my wife and her friend had the same opinion.
Let's just take the middle ground, maybe I and my wife lack some perspective and you are too sensitive.
But more important, we all liked the movie :)

And the thing i really missed was lady Sif in the finale battle.

That's exactly what I want from a super-hero movie. I want comic book panels to come to life on the screen. If I would overlook a plot contrivance in a comic, I would probably overlook it in a movie. I loved the Avengers panels in the first movie and I loved the comic book panel fight scene at the end of Ultron. I loved the shot of the women together in Endgame and I loved Cap leading the charge. It's all good--it's fun--and it's emotionally rewarding. Some people call me naive for saying that but what the hell.

I thought the "all female" Avengers scene was fine (and I'm a male); It's a nice shot of a group of beautiful women, plus Pepper's armor was pretty cool looking. It was a lot like the super hero knee landing scenes where they almost always land on that kneeling pose. It's a classic comic book visual to see the heroes doing something cool.

The only cringe-worthy moment I had in that sequence was Spiderman's comment right before the scene. When he hands over the Infinity gauntlet to Captain Marvel he said something to the effect of how are you going to get through all of them (everyone in Thanos' army). Uhh... dude... she just single handedly destroyed Thanos' giant spaceship. Thanos' troops are a minor inconvenience to her at best.

I hated this shot too. Way to unrealistic. At least it was at the very beginning of the movie and not during the main battle sequence.

Did he see CM attack the ship? If he did not, then his question--considering all he's been exposed to--is justified.

To anyone who had a problem with the "all-female scene," did they also have a problem with the "all-male scene" of Cap, Thor, and Iron Man stepping up to fight Thanos?

So I saw this last night. I held my pee and sat through the whole thing.

I think IW was better. Endgame was better than AoU.

There were a lot of parts that I liked about Endgame, just some examples: I liked this version of the Hulk, again Nebula basically steals the show, Cap being worthy, Scarlet Witch kicking butt, the opening with Hawkeye's family, Captain Marvel.

I think my biggest complaint can be summed up as: it was too short. A lot of character elements and plotting were short-changed by the shortness. For example, what happened to the relationship between Banner and Black Widow? Why even bother to name-check it if there's nothing there anymore, and why not give us an idea of what became of it if they're going to name check it? Another thing, the whole idea of the Infinity Stones getting destroyed made no sense in light of the conversation that Hulk and the Ancient One had about the removal of the Time Stone from the timeline. It should very much have been something that Banner would have considered to be worth discussing at that moment. The conversation was hurried and she gave Hulk the Time Stone too easily. That represents a general third complaint: all planning was hurried and half-baked. With a time machine at their disposal, there's no need to rush the planning stage. Sending Nebula back into proximity with her former self should have been something that Nebula herself anticipated as being problematic, given her tech. In fact, I'd have expected the teams to have been allocated based on the likelihood of them not interacting with their former selves, something that they should have had a better batting average regarding with better planning. Another issue: Cap's taking something for himself with Peggy raised a butt-ton of questions that zero time was spent on. For example, did Cap displace Peggy's former husband, was Cap really her husband all along, or did he and Peggy break up at some point? There are a couple of key scenes at the end points but no story there; that's not good film-making.

Add to this the overall feeling of "Meh," and I have a hard time giving it an "A." As a lollapalooza extravaganza it's exceptional, so it earns "A-." I'm sure I'll eventually rewatch it multiple times on the tube.

P.S. Apologies if I'm raising any issues that have been worn out by now. But I just saw the film, and I'm not able to read through all 50 pages before posting! ;)

I think it's a reasonable to assume he did. The ship's guns stopped firing at the Avengers and started firing at something else. I'd think that pause alone would make most take a quick glance up to see what's going on. Furthermore, Spiderman states himself that his senses are dialed up to 11. Add on to that, Tony Stark designed the Iron Spider suit (as well as the normal one). It probably has many of the same capabilities of the armors worn by himself, Pepper and Rhodey.

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but Marvel is slowly releasing scenes from the movie on their youtube channel:

But seriously, a question. Where did Valkyrie get her flying horse from exactly?

Dr. Strange opened up a portal to the planet of the flying horses so she could get one.

Maybe it's one of her abilities...

Thor can summon lightning. Loki can create illusions. Maybe Valkyrie can summon a pegasus.

    There are 2 differences:
Intent is number one. The intention of the shot showing the guys is that they are heroes first getting ready for an impossible challenge. Them being men is farther than secondary to the scene. Probably the only consideration in who they are is that it's the Avengers trinity, equivalent to Justice League's Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman. They are THE Avengers, for all intents and purposes.

For the woman, the intent is 100% to show that the woman are together, it's a sludge hammer to our heads, not subtle at all, with them being heroes and up against a challenge unfortunately secondary.

Add to that how forced it is that the truly awe-inspiring Captain Marvel doesn’t need their help, let alone powerhouses like or Hulk or Thor really, adds to how forced it is. Only Scarlet Witch is in her league. Something we all know. Not because she's a woman. But because she simply is.

So is the vastly disproportionate white cishet army of characters to the rest of us.
