Detective Pikachu: The Movie

Booked tickets for this Friday (Midday). Got extended weekend off work so thought I'd treat my self as the trailers do look quite good even if I stopped playing the games after Pokemon Red (bar a brief week or so with Pokemon Go) and stopped watching the show just after the end of the Orange Island arc.

I'm turning 32 this Saturday so why not relive a bit of my childhood to make me feel young again

If you have a Switch get Pokemon Let's Go. It's a remake of Red and Blue, mixed with more elements from the anime and gameplay elements from Pokemon Go. If you have kids or young family members, it's fun to play with them and get them into Pokemon too. I've been teaching my nephew how to battle.

Not a Pokémon fan by any means but Ryan Reynolds trolled the hell out of the internet this morning. He also covertly trolled Jordan Peale. Go find the exchange.

(didn't see that this has been posted before, still funny tho)

I watched it!

I can tell you best Pokemon live-action movie released to date! ;)
No end credit scene, so kinda disappointing...

I haven't really been into Pokemon since it all first started, so I have one quick question. Are there real world animals in the Pokemon world, or just Pokemon?

Both. Animals aren't sapient in that world either and are eaten the same way we do. Sushi, BBQ's etc fishing industries all exist in the Pokemon world, some of them eat animals too, aquatic Pokemon eat fish.

When the game was first announced and when I saw the first trailer I was unimpressed because I figured it was just a console version of the phone app. Just throwing balls at stuff didn't seem appealing but just saw a video and it's got combat in it too. Also when you say a remake of Red/Blue? as in the original 150 Pokémon world, same sort of map etc?

I do have a Switch and I've been looking for a reason to play it more. About to buy Sonic Mania for that reason and Pokémon could work too. I almost brought a Gameboy last year so I could play Yellow/Red/Blue again.

It's a fully 3D remake of Kanto complete with the gyms, Team Rocket, full story and the 150 Pokemon yup.

It does simplify a lot of things for new players and aimed at a younger audience though. Wild Pokemon are caught with the JoyCon or Pokeball, instead of battling those. But you still fight all the NPC's in the game.

Most definitely. Just beat Pikachu version recently. Love it. Nice! You planning on getting Shield or Sword version? I'm leaning towards Sword version myself. Can't wait to see the new Pokemon in Gen 8.

Sword, mostly as if there's a blue version I go for that. But I'll see what exclusive Pokemon they have first.

Cool. Yea that's me as well for the most part. Might try for the other version down the road, but I get the one I like the most first.

You do have to battle some wild Pokémon, namely the legendary ones or story driven ones like Snorlax or MewTwo.

It’s a lot of fun to see the original game areas again in a new way. We’ll be getting Sword and Shield on the Switch soon too and it looks huge and more involved. This is a fun nostalgia trip and an introduction for young players.

Sonic Mania is good too, but the special stages are annoying. It's worth playing through and getting them though, Superforms are available for all characters this time.
Yea I got that for Christmas from a friend via a gift exchange. What was so annoying about the special stages?
