So, we finally got a trailer for this, and I thought it was really interesting. I didn't know what to think of this movie based on the premise alone, but it actually looks like something I want to see. The Pokemon look a bit odd, but not in a bad way, they work for this mix of real people with CG pokemon. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this movie.
I'm definitely seeing this...lol. It's way better looking than I expected. However, I'm not even really sure what I was expecting. I honestly thought that all the Pokemon would be able to talk and it would be like a Muppets world with Pokemon instead. It's nice to see that is actually a live action Pokemon world where there are trainers and everything. I love that only one kid can understand Pikachu, that's a surprisingly funny gag!
I'm not super big on Pokémon like I was in my childhood but wow this looks amazing. I'll be seeing this for sure.
I played the Nintendo 3DS game which came out back around Easter. I remember that in the game it was explained that only the main human character and his father could understand Pikachu, however, they could not understand other Pokémon, so Pikachu had to be the interpreter when you, as the human, wanted to talk to other Pokémon. Of course the game ended on a cliff-hanger with unresolved plot threads, so I would like to see a sequel. I don’t think the movie will be the sequel, but it’ll be interesting to see if a new game will be released next year.
This doesn't look.... not interesting. I've never been that much into Pokemon, played the first game on the Gameboy because it was a thing and watched a bit of the show whenever it was on. I'll give this one a watch. I can't unhear Deadpool tough, throw in some fourth wall breaking dick jokes Pikachu!
I have the Deadpool problem, too. Doesn’t help that he acts almost like him, except in a PG kind of way.
^ I'm glad I'm not the only one that was thinking the exact same thing... My first thought was "Oh, a PG rated Deadpool... cool" Q2
Holy crap, not only does it look like this isn't the complete trainwreck I was expecting, it actually looks good. This trailer took me from morbid curiosity, to real anticipation.
I'm really looking forward to just seeing a modern city full of humans and pokemon living and working together. I need to see a Squirtle and an Eevee in live-action.
The only Pokemon I ever engaged with was Pokemon Go (an excuse to go for a walk). But that's almost unbearably cute. With Deadpool's voice.
So, Castelia City from Unova/Gen 5. Which given it being based on New York would make it easier to film.
I think it looks good. There is a sign on the poster that says "Unova Style Pizza". I thought that was clever.
