Maybe S4 view of the 1701 can have WNBHGB engines and pylons?
true, but the point was to try get these two ships to feel a little more connected than they otherwise are. We've seen other starfleet shops in DSC with Orange/red bussards though.
Not all of them were blue.
I'd also have swapped out the awful gaudy gold deflector dish for something more Kelvin universe-esque.not saying this is better than what we got on screen, but was playing around in photoshop (poorly) to see what could be done to make her feel more in line with the discovery aesthetic.

thought about it.I'd also have swapped out the awful gaudy gold deflector dish for something more Kelvin universe-esque.
Also, I love this edit! I've always disliked the nacelle cap being dark red - IMO that already looked weird on the NX-01 and the Phoenix.
But it’s iconic.I'd also have swapped out the awful gaudy gold deflector dish for something more Kelvin universe-esque.
I love the dish.
Same here.
But it’s iconic.
It’s also not a flat gold, there is detailing on it.
I don't think it's glowing. Just reflective.Even the hull plating on the Klingon D7 has glowy bits. We get it. Glowy means cool for some stupid reason.
Tone it down a notch.
random glowy bits

They still got a couple years. Give 'em time to dash your hopesMaybe the DSC aesthetic should try to skew a little more in the direction of TOS?![]()
