News Picard series to have "strong international appeal"

IIRC CBS said in an recent interview that their deal with Netflix still has a few years left.

From previous statements, Netflix have the rights to Discovery for its duration and any spin-offs (eg. Section 31 or a Pike show), but not any unrelated new Trek shows (eg. Picard and Lower Decks).

But if they are all in the Prime Universe then that means they are all related.

When hasn't Star Trek had a strong international appeal?

The UK censor banned The High Ground (TNG) in the 1990s because of dialogue about terrorism leading to Irish reunification. This has since been rescinded. Governments can get really wound up about topics that haven't been properly researched to be 'sensitive'.
