I think all bets are off as to what the state of play will be for Discovery on the other side of the wormhole. In Calypso, Zora tells Craft it has been almost 1000 years since her Captain ordered her to hold position and wait, she didn't tell him how long it had been since season 2 of Discovery. The crew haven't abandoned Discovery yet, and they've just jumped 930 years into the future, so Calypso must be set at least 1000 years after that point, so 2000 years in Pike and Spock's future. That pushes Calypso even further into the future, unless the writers made a booboo.

Well, 50 years on and I still don't get these temporal headaches of which you speak. Perhaps there's a lot more folks with tardigrade dna than is officially accepted?

It seems as if they are totally going to go the Andromeda route. Discovery is going to likely be set in a future where the Federation has either collapsed or lost its way. The Discovery Crew with Brunham in the lead - probably even thought she will be the First Officer - will take the task upon themselves of restoring the Federation, or at least its principles to a galaxy in chaos.

My guess is there will be no attempt to return home. Also, S31 series with Georgiou hasn't been green lit yet so.....my money is still on that being converted to a Pike / Enterprise series with Yeoh as a regular guest star. It think she will end up taking the suit home to "update" the past on what the future holds to help avoid some of the issues - we will see that knowledge ripple across time and affect the Discovery Crew in season 4. Since Pike is the only one who knows of Discovery's fate, the Disco crew will communicate with Enterprise directly in the past to give them a heads up about Georgiou's return. There will be some technological reason that the info she has can't be communicated back to Enterprise without her taking the suit and going back. Enterprise crew will make up some "reason" that Georgiou survived the Disco "disaster."

Michael sent back the signal to alert Spock and Pike that the made it safely - I wouldn't be surprised if Empress Gorgeous came back with that signal somehow.

I wouldn't be surprised if they spend a season 1000 years in the future, then return to the 23rd century, but miss by 15-20 years and end up in the TOS movie-verse era (which is largely a blank slate).

Maybe they jump back to Talos IV after Pike got there and is imagining himself without a wheelchair. And then give him a new body through the mushroom network. Then they take off to about 10 years before Picard commands the big E and have a run-in with him on the Stargazer.

If they don't do the Pike Show, that is...

It's strange. When Discovery was announced almost everybody wanted the show to be set in a future era. Now that they do this, a lot of people apparently want the vessel return to an already known time period. Interestingly they are often the same ones who griped about canon mistakes before the show had a chance to resolve them.

I guess they're damned if they do and damned if they don't

They jump to a future where the historical documents reveal that the Federation collapses and is run over by The Dominion because PG was not there to make sure Section 31 becomes the Dark Ops needed to do the deeds, like create genetic viruses that almost destroyed The Link and Odo in the 24th century. Considering PG has access to the Defiant's records maybe she knows something about how to get back.

Can't please everyone all the time. And for those committed to their outrage for whatever reason, they will just move the goalposts to maintain their outrage.
