It's not that hard do, so I don't see why they shouldn't.Not quite what I'm talking about. I have no issue with them doing a reimagined 23rd century, complete with truly alien Klingons, Spock having a sister, the Federation fighting and nearly losing a war with the Klingon Empire, cloaking devices coming a decade early and a Spore Drive that essentially is a shortcut to the entire universe.
I do have an issue with them trying to cram those elements into the TOS timeline/story. It is time for Star Trek to move forward, losing the baggage of the past.
