That looks really nice! On a related note, looks like the worker bee will be available for regular release as issue 13.

So are the Discovery Enterprise models generally straight? The I've noticed with a lot of Eaglemoss stuff is that many times parts are crooked.

    Generally, yes
My Shenzhou is perfect. My Discovery had a split engine, and so I requested a replacement which they sent. The replacement had a crooked saucer which I was able to easily fix.(the original discovery saucer was fine)

The only "crooked" item on any ship is my U.S.S. Kerala. The deflector is a little crooked, but hardly noticeable.

No other ships, including the Discoprise have any kind of issue like that.

Thanks. Pulled the trigger on the Enterprise. Hopefully it is a good model.

Splurged a little and ordered the regular sized NX-01 and Enterprise-E from Amazon.

as far as i know, the worker bee was also a regular release. i got mine so early because i skipped an issue and have my account set to receive models weekly, rather than monthly. which means, if they're in stock, i get them.
it is a good model, as good as the XL and far less cumbersome. but all the discovery models are good. they're just based on questionable designs, in my opinion.

With where they are at right now, the only other Discovery ships I would have any interest in would be the Discovery and Buran.

Starship aesthetic is all over the place in Discovery. Some look like they'd fit in the Star Trek: First Contact battle scene while others would be at home in the TOS movie era.
The Walker class, which was referred to as an outdated piece of junk, looks sleeker and more modern than most of the other ships in the show.

I can't complain, to be honest. I'm a big fan of all of Eaves' Starfleet designs for Discovery. I love how he was able to give them a unique and uniform look with many shared design elements without making all of them look the same. The hero ships Shenzhou and Discovery look the best, but others like the Europa or Buran look awesome as well.

@BillJ, I don't think you'll be disappointed by the NX-01. In my mind it's still the single best regular sized model of a hero ship that they have put out. :)

i have a few issues with eaves' designs. you're right they have many shared design elements, but the big ones like engines and deflectors are often very different from one another and that hurts the uniformity.

eaglemoss has done an amazing job replicating these ships, they're really detailed. but they haven't settled on a uniform hull color, probably due to the CGI assets all being different, but this makes them look a little scattered. to me anyway.

however, this is a great collection. my top picks are the discovery, shenzhou, and worker bee. i've got the sarcophagus on the way and while it wasn't my favorite thing in the show on screen, it looks like eaglemoss have made a really great model out of it.

I think one problem with Eaves' designs, even the First Contact ones, is that they can get a little too flat. See the Magee class (DIS) and Saber class (ST:FC), they're almost unrecognizable, like big rectangles, when viewed from the side.

Apparently, the flatness of the DSC ships (Klingon and Fed) was a Fuller direction.

There's also the production art in this article, where we can see the Discoprise being squished more and more (I'm not sure if those pictures are options presented all at once, or sequential revisions, but either way, the producers could've gone for a taller ship, like the original).

I'd hide that thing. Be afraid Disney would sue over its likeness to the Falcon.

I disagree, they all look too primitive.

The only Starfleet ship in FC that Eaves designed was the Enterprise-E herself. The rest were from a designer at ILM.

Yeah, Fuller told Eaves and the other Fed designers to make the ships flat.
Fuller was already off the show when Eaves got the order to design the Enterprise though. I assume it was made flatter to try and fit with the other designs in the show.

And yes, Fuller told the Klingon ship designers to ignore the previous series/movies designs.

Got the Double-E. Like most of their models, there is one flaw. The red plastic piece in front of one of the warp nacelles isn't placed correctly. Leaving a see-through gap.

Got the sarcophagus ship yesterday and I immediately broke it. :)
Luckily it was a clean break so it was easily fixed with glue.
It’s nice but with most of the space orc ships, they don’t really have a 3D profile.

There is nothing about ships like the Buran and the Edison that look so primitive that they could not have been used as FC ships.

The FC ships minus the Enterprise-E were designed by Alex Jaeger. I'm not too fond of his designs either.
