Oh, and now that it's been canonically established the spore drive is working again, I really don't see how Control could ever find Discovery. They could jump it to the past, the future, 50 billion light years away, to an alternate universe, etc.

That's the whole problem with having multiple types of magic tech just sitting around.

I'm trying to watch it, but the connection keeps wigging out, causing lots of buffering and displaying the show at really low resolution. This is why I hate streaming services.

Edit: okay, now it's working right at last.

Yeah, that is a big issue. That’s why I usually download first.
Amazon is the only one I like since it’s consistent and has the best picture quality out of all of them.

If the streaming's janky, I just go download it instead.

We still don’t know what caused the Discoprise to break down. Is it possible that Control already has infected that ship and it will turn on them at some point?

Haven't seen the episode yet, but Discovery can't jump back and forth through time with any sort of control. The singular time it happened was a complete accident while coming back from the MU. And it cost a lot of lives in the Klingon War. That hasn't changed, has it?

Are you expecting this show to be consistent with things like that? They can’t even be consistent from one episode to another. :)

And, for the record: there is only one live-action action show that should ever be called Star Trek with nothing else in the title after it. And it ran from 1966 to 1969. Everything other series is Star Trek: Sub-Title.

Maybe not for the Pike show but if they recast Kirk and Crew? It's just a bit of a gap between season 3 and 4.

Well, that would be different. But I don't think they will. I don't think they'll ever make a series about Kirk's Enterprise as long as Paramount wants to make movies in that setting. The Abrams films might have been shelved, but I'm dead certain they'll re-reboot the films with Kirk and crew some time in the 2020s.
