I'm still finding it really weird that apparently all of the godlike beings in the galaxy are somehow either defeated by Control in only 1,000 years or just don't give a damn.

I mean, where are the Q? The Cytherians? The Thasians? The Guardian of Forever? The Traveller's race? The Organians? The Prophets?
Perhaps such beings have a non-linear perception of time (the Prophets certainly do) and are able to see the inevitable defeat of Control by Discovery without having to interfere.

Also, who says that the source behind the red lights isn't one of the above advanced beings?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as we know, the only incidence of Discovery time-traveling was when they accidentally overshot the timeline by 9 months when returning from the Mirror Universe. The result was unintended and quite disastrous (due to their critical absence). There is no evidence, as of yet, that they have the capability to do a controlled time jump. Not saying it can't be figured out and achieved by the end of the season, but right now, that is not the case.

I think the episode was ok, but somehow it felt like one of the weaker episodes from this season to me.

I must admit that in general my hype for the second season decreased somehow since we learned that the Red Angel is actually nothing but technology. I was sure that it's some so far unknown living being and was always damn curious about the outcome. Would have been much more interesting in my opinion than... well, a time travel suit.

And I miss the stand-alone element from the season's earlier episodes. I loved the first half for having exactly this element, of course the episodes were all connected to the Red Angel plot, but usually they also told their own stories which were mostly typical Star Trek. They were all good up to very good Star Trek episodes. And now they focus only on the main plot which I, as I said, don't find as interesting anymore as I did in the beginning.

My wish for the next season would be that there was no main story anymore. I mean, I don't want to sound like "This is not Star Trek anymore!!!", because I still enjoy the show. But I'd really love if in season 3, and in best case all the following seasons, the Discovery just explored space and the crew was thrown into a new and independent adventure of the week each episode. You know, just like in "good old times" like TNG or DS9. I doubt however that this will be the case ^^

Well, I liked the character moments. Doctor Burnham was cool. But the plot...

After the last episode I said that I need to see how the story progresses. Well, it is unravelling.

I have really liked the more self contained episodes on this season, but yet again the main plot is a mess.

Certainly the Q, and quite possibly the Prophets, would know exactly what's going to happen.

Maybe the writers and researchers should have picked another star to go supernova for that flashback. Alpha Lupi might be a good candidate within Federation-explored space, but it's too far from the Klingon border per Sternbach-Okuda subspace telescope rules for watching such things in real time safely...?

(Yep, re-reading TNGTM again...Chapter 10, this time.)

One thing that I don’t think has been mentioned here is that Leland claimed to have seen the dead body of Mama Burnham and thought that RA was a doppelgänger.

Of course we saw that Mama Burnham seemed to be genuine and Leland wasn’t quite himself when he said that.
