I've read a spy novel written by Garfield and Judith Reeves-Stevens from the library Ice fire I thought was it a fast paced and exciting story. It's been a long time since I read it. But I really liked their Ds9 Trek books and Star Trek Federation novel. I wanted to read some of their other novels from the libraary alot of other Star Trek authors books at the library .I wish they'd write another Star trek book someday.. I've also read Diane Duane's original fiction stories and liked them too.

A few reminders coming at ya. I apologize to those of you who don't need it.

    1. I have a new novel coming out in a few weeks: THE IRON CODEX (Dark Arts, Book 2).
Release date: Jan. 15, 2019, from Tor Books.

There will be no printed ARCs (Advance Reader Copies) of The Iron Codex, but eARCS are available for free on request via NetGalley: https://www.netgalley.com/catalog/book/146132

    2. You can pre-order The Iron Codex in trade paperback, eBook, or digital audiobook via my website:
    http://davidmack.pro/writing/the-iron-codex/

    3. Hell Rode With Her," a prequel tale to The Iron Codex, is free to read on tor.com.

    4. The first Dark Arts novel, THE MIDNIGHT FRONT, is on sale throughout December for $2.99 (eBook, all formats and North American retailers) or $8.79 (paperback, Amazon, U.S. only).

    5. If you're a SFWA member, you can download The Midnight Front as an eBook (Kindle, mobi, or ePub) for free from:

I have both of those! I read an advance copy of Ice Fire that I got from the S&S office, and I bought a hardcover copy of QuickSilver.

I remember liking all three of the Reeves-Stevens technothrillers. I also recall Icefire in particular having a few Trek Easter eggs.....

I just found the blurb for The Shadow Cabal, the third book in David Mack's Dark Arts series.
So is this the last book in the series? I was thinking it was, but there was no mention of it being the end in the blurb, so I thought there might be more. There's still a lot of time to cover after the '60s.:D

It will depend upon whether sales of the first three books are deemed successful enough by Tor to warrant continuing the series.

Former DC Comics Trek editor and Trek novelist Robert Greenberger (Doors Into Chaos, A Time to Love, A Time to Hate, The Romulan Stratagem) is putting together an anthology for Crazy 8 Press called Thrilling Adventure Yarns. It's an anthology of pulp-style stories of all kinds, and is currently doing the crowdfund thing on Kickstarter -- mostly so C8 can afford to pay the Lester Dent estate for a never-before-published story by Dent, the creator of Doc Savage!

Among the contributors (besides Dent, obviously) are the following Trek prose stylists:
    • Derek Tyler Attico (Strange New Worlds 2016)
    • Michael Jan Friedman (Star Trek: Stargazer, Death in Winter)
    • Glenn Hauman (Oaths, Creative Couplings)
    • Robert T. Jeschonek (The Cleanup, Distant Shores)
    • Paul Kupperberg (Sargasso Sector)
    • Aaron Rosenberg (The Riddled Post, Collective Hindsight)
Also: Jim & Becky Beard, Russ Colchamiro, Paige Daniels, Kathleen O’Shea David, Mary Fan, Amy Lewanski, Karissa Laurel, and Jenifer Purcell Rosenberg.

If we make our stretch goal of $5000 (the funding goal for the book is $4500), then the anthology will also include "Alien Invasion of Earth!" by Keith R.A. DeCandido (that's me! -- Articles of the Federation, Q & A) and "Professor Ironheart and the Furher Bunker" by Peter David (Star Trek: New Frontier, Imzadi), as well as a story by pulp master Will Murray.

    So go check it out!

You can now preorder Mermaid Precinct and get your grubby mitts on the eBook of A Furnace Sealed!

Mermaid Precinct, the fifth novel in my series of fantasy police procedurals, is available for preorder in eBook or trade paperback form at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, or Indie Bound. In this novel, Danthres and Torin must investigate the murder of the legendary Pirate Queen.

A Furnace Sealed is Book 1 in the Adventures of Bram Gold, a new urban fantasy series about a nice Jewish boy from the Bronx who hunts monsters. The eBook is on sale now from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Smashwords, and the trade paperback and hardcover will both be available soon.

Since we're plugging our current works, let it be noted that I just received my author copies of BATMAN: THE COURT OF OWLS, which comes out in a couple of weeks.

Is this your first original Batman novel, Greg? I know you've written several adaptations with him, but I can't remember if I've ever seen an original Batman novel from you.

I wrote some original BATMAN short stories back in 1992, but you're right that most of my Bat-books have been novelizations. This is my first original Bat-Novel.

I've got two new stories upcoming later this year (or sometime) about the Troubleshooters from Only Superhuman: "The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of," a prequel adventure of the Troubleshooter Corps's founder appearing in the upcoming eSpec Books anthology Footprints in the Stars, and "Conventional Powers," an Emerald Blair/Green Blaze story that I've sold to Analog Science Fiction and Fact. More info on my blog: https://christopherlbennett.wordpress.com/2019/03/27/the-troubleshooters-return-in-two-new-stories/

I'm a bit late in mentioning this, but eSpec Books has opened a new Kickstarter for three short story collections, including the above-mentioned Footprints in the Stars anthology, which contains stories by Trek veterans Robert Greenberger, Keith R.A. DeCandido, Aaron Rosenberg, and Dayton Ward as well as my new Troubleshooter story. Footprints is "A traditional science fiction collection with the theme of the discovery of evidence of other life in the universe and how those discoveries impact humanity." Not a first-contact anthology, but more about finding alien artifacts, signals, etc. It's slated to debut at Shore Leave this year, provided we get it funded.

The first anthology, Defending the Future Vol. 8 -- In Harm's Way (which also has stories by Bob and Aaron), has already been funded, but we're currently $917 away from funding Footprints. The third collection to be funded is Devil Dancers, a single-author military-SF collection by Robert E. Waters. There are also bonus stories and other rewards spelled out at the Kickstarter page linked above. The Kickstarter will remain open until May 19, 2019.
