THE ORVILLE S2, E11: "LASTING IMPRESSIONS"

The cigarette story was a lot like the Malcolm in the Middle episode where Hal is trying to give up smoking and hide cigarettes all around his house.
I do agree it neededing more 2015 references. They should have had one of the simulations say that Mercer’s voice sounds familiar.

I liked this episode, but I thought it was pretty light and insubstantial. It's interesting they chose to do two "Gordon stories" in a row. It's also interesting that they made a big deal about having Isaac stay on the ship, but he's been all-but unseen for the past two weeks in a row.

I think the Orville is splitting between people who prefer THE OFFICE in Space and people who want big epic space opera.

I'm the former. More of these shows and forget the whole Kaylon threat.

This was a nice, light episode. I can't help but love Kelly more and more each week, and consider Adrian Palicki a genuine treasure on the show. The B plot of Bortus and Klyden getting addicted to cigarettes was hilarious, and I love how when Klyden confronts Bortus and his sneaking, he takes one from the sculpture, one from behind the television, and then what had to be 100 from inside the pillow.

Gordon's addiction to Lara and her world is completely understandable, and I would likely be just as overwhelmed were I in his place. I like how the episode touched on what is and isn't real, how we lie to ourselves for just a little bit of happiness, and how it can ultimately destroy us if we don't let go of that denial. All in all, a good slice of life episode.

Geordi La Forge , Reg Barkley , Gordon , Bortus

Almost enough for a Holodeck addiction support group.

seriously though , a good episode.

It was OK. Good to see Tim Russ again.

Now comes 2 weeks of reruns (repeat of “Identity”) before the next new episode on Apr 11.

So that’s what WTF stands for.
I thought you weren’t allowed to show someone inhaling a cigarette on tv any more.

I kind of thought the same thing, maybe it's a context thing since them smoking in this episode dealt with the addiction and recovery.

Was going through a YouTube video that had a scene from this episode. One person made a comment about how they got a Voyager alum to guest star, and someone else responded that they need to get an actor from DS9 on this show. Um....
Besides Her, Nana Visitor was supposed to be in a episode, but her manager forgot to tell her she had the role.

I'll never get why people think some episodes of shows are "filler shows" or what makes an episode about people fighting space jello from critters from a wormhole supposedly more "substantal" than another kind of story.
