Wait, is the consensus that Leland is dead? I took it that he was infected and would be reanimated by Control. Something about the effect they did on his eyeball. Or did I misread that?

I kind of hope that's the end of him, as having another double agent after Airiam might be a bit much for me.

Who was the voice that told Ash he had the power or whatever?

Parts of the episode were a "6/7" but other parts were an "8/9," particularly the performances, the Spock/Burnham discussion, everything with Michelle Yeoh, and the last 10 mins.

It was a bit of a schizo experience as a result.

But, ultimately, the characters and performances, coupled with a satisfying reveal, push this to an 8. Pretty damn fun. Makes me want next week to be right now.

Yeah, that's where I was. There were so many meh parts of the episode (Ash/Michael, Saru/Leland, the Red Angel infodump near the start of the episode) and so many fantastic parts (Spock/Burnham, Culber/Cornwell, everything in the last 10 minutes, etc). But it did all average out in the end.

I do not share the love for this episode. Halfway through, I pushed the fast forward to see the ending.

What did happen to Leland at the end?

I assume Control killed him or took him over. In the novel version, Control is in all Federation tech so I imagine it’s something similar here.

I had decided the Red Angel couldn’t be Michael early on. How could she trap herself when future Michael would already have known about the plan and the conversation because she was there for it? Michael’s mother has an obvious reason for doing anything and everything to save her child. She’s saving the universe and warning everyone in the process of saving Michael — therefore, Michael’s Mom was the Red Angel. There’s a nice parallel there with the moment Michael died and Sarek gave up a piece of his katra to save her.

I did think some of the scenes were rushed. Mirror Georgiou is not entirely convincing in her feelings for Michael. Didn’t she used to be a monster? I did like Spock’s scenes with Michael and Michael and Ash Tyler.

It's funny how the time crystal powering the suit ends up with Picard...

You don't believe me?
