Of course there's an awesome coda to the story where Shatner asks her out, and SHE GOES OUT WITH HIM even though she's just about to get married.![]()
But wasn't the Shat married as well at the time?

Was Trek the only show in which she didn't do any contortion?

It was breaking up, because shortly after trek he went and lived in the camper on the beach right? With dog iirc. Not saying it was ok to do. Not really sure of the timing.
I don't know about that. Now I listened the podcast and it was just one-time job without any audition. I suppose that if they had intended to make her a recurring player, the process would have been more thorough. But I have to add that I have no idea what would be her role in an hypothetical series. Perhaps she would have to appear just for few seconds every episode being mute and, er, feline?Hmm, maybe they cast her with an eye toward the potential spinoff series in which she'd presumably be a recurring player. After all, cats are very flexible, so it makes sense to cast a contortionist as the cat's human form.
I thought that too, but she never had had any acting experience before that episode (she confirmed that in podcast). She was just an unaccredited extra and they didn't even check if she could speak a line. From that to a recurring player in a tv show perhaps is a little too much of a leap?I wonder if they picked a contortionist thinking she could fold herself up and then cross fade to a shot of the cat to help sell the transformation?

Or, if we want to think ill of Roddenberry, perhaps he thought something like: "Uhmmm... a contortionist... a skimpy cat-like costume... I see potentiality in that..."

There is no doubt in my mind that Roddenberry would've thought something like that. There were probably few Hollywood producers at the time who wouldn't have thought that way.
In a better world, yes. Not in those days, not for an aspiring actress without any previous experience...If Roddenberry, or any of those other middle aged Hollywood producers tried any of her moves with her, they'd be headed to the hospital, fast.

Oh yes!!! My bad!!!^Ahh, yes, mb22 said "tried any of her moves with her," not "tried any moves on her." But that wasn't what Skipper and I were talking about.
