OPS Ensign

[Yuri Nikolayev]

Does anyone know the name of the actress who plays this OPS Ensign? She appears in numerous season 3 and 4 episodes, but no character name is ever given, and no actress credit listed. IMDB lists a Nya Crenshaw, but when I Google that name, the actress that comes up IS on TNG, but she’s a black actress. This woman is not black. Does anyone know her name?

If she has no lines, she's in the background, and background players typically don't get listed in the credits or even in production paperwork, such as cast lists and shooting schedules.

Memory Alpha has no idea who she was either, so I don't like your chances.
(Not that they're the be-all, end-all of course. But they do have a bunch of uncredited people listed in various roles throughout the franchise. Not this one though.)

Any other shots of her, or a list of episodes she appears in? I've just scrolled through MA's list of ops officers and unnamed ops officers but no luck. Doesn't seem to be any mention of her in the uncredited actors section of BOBW either.

There are plenty of actresses and female extras who are hired on their own merits. However, it is a true fact that there are those hired for other reasons as well. The "casting couch" was a definite thing with Gene Roddenberry and, unfortunately, still endures to this day.
