Saru followed eventually by Burnham if Saru returns to lead his people in reconciling with the Ba'ul.

Alternatively, Burnham can be promoted to captain of the future USS Georgiou.

I'd like to see Captain Saru before Burnham gets the chair. For next season, let's have another cap, though. The one waiting at Vulcan.

As for the USS Georgiou, the NCC-2100 is lost on its first mission in the 2290s according to STO lore. :rommie:

Prime Lorca would be my number one pick.

Number Two: Number One! I thought Rebecca Romijn nailed the role in the short time she was on Discovery and wouldn't mind seeing more of her

Honorable mention: Captain T'Pol, who I think was the captain waiting ever so patiently on Vulcan

Crap. I didn't see that multiple's were allowed. I voted for Number One.

But I'd be fine with Saru. Or April.

Actually I'd be with any choice. I think an Andorian would be cool. Or any alien. Preferably non-Vulcan.

There is a "change your vote" option. You can go in, and still vote for two others.

I think the show should be building towards Captain Saru and, eventually, Captain Burnham. I'd be fine with Saru getting there next season - but I don't think he necessarily needs to. It would also be perfectly good for him to get another solid captain to study under in the meantime. Burnham's promotion should basically be the series finale, whenever that is.

So if not Saru (yet), then I would go for Number One, or a completely new character that is unique (preferably an alien or a woman or both, or something else we've never seen before). I would also accept prime Lorca if they absolutely had to, since Isaacs was good and prime Lorca need not be tarnished by the bs they pulled with mirror Lorca.

I would not want Saru to be captain--not without adding another new major character. Part of Discovery's charm so far (for me) is that bringing in a new captain each season mixes things up in interesting ways, and if you make Saru captain you're left with less than we've had for two seasons now. It's the cast + the new person that adds real interest for me.

I'd vote for Number One.

But you can still bring in other characters. This season also added Jett Reno and May, so far. And it could've done significantly more with them if it hadn't been focusing on Pike as much.

In order of preference:

1. Christopher Pike (nothing in canon says he can't still be there, all we know is that Kirk took command from him. For all we know, he's with Discovery for years before transferring back to the Enterprise as a Fleet Captain)
2. Random New Human Captain Waiting on Vulcan (I like this rotating captain game...keeps the series fresh)

3. Number One (love the actress, fascinated by the character)

4. Prime Lorca (completely and utterly ridiculous / implausible, but Jason Isaacs is the man)

5. Robau...because why not I guess?

6. A Packled looking for things

7. The Di-Kronium Vampire Cloud

8. Vash

9. Trelene

10. Michael Burnham (in the last episode of the series)

11. Random Alien Captain
12. A Warp 10 Salamander that Q brings to the past from the Delta Quadrant

11. Saru

So, Saru then?:techman::p:whistle:

I'd like to think that by this point Captain Robau is a one-manned intelligence-intelligence organization called Section 32 that keeps section 31 in check.
It was only when Section 33, in a fit of paranoid envy, stranded Robau in the Delta Quadrant, awaiting rescue by Voyager’s crew, did 31 feel free to go full rogue as seen in DS9. Just wait until Robau catches up with Sloan.

Now I'm really being reminded of Col. Flagg telling different people he's in the CIA, CIC or CID, just to throw them off.

^ Point taken!

And FWIW, Faran Tahir has said he'd gladly play Robau again if DSC came calling.

Prime Lorca would be my number one pick.

You don't think there might be some members of the crew who would balk at this?

Of course everyone knows that ReguLorca is not responsible for his counterpart's actions but there still may be some lingering bad blood among the crew. The mere mention of the name 'Gabriel Lorca' may set them off.

Besides, he would probably need extensive debriefing and possible rehabilitation (depending on what happened to him in the MU) when he returns home.
