Mount is great as Pike and I love his take on the character, but let's not pretend his acting ability is anything extraordinary. People of his caliber are a dime-a-dozen. I'm sure they can find someone else.

After the recent episode 'Project Daedalus', I'm thinking .....

'Control' ends up becoming the AI on Discovery and is Spore Drive'd into the remote location and ordered to stay put, a la 'Calypso'.

All of the Discovery crew is transferred over to the Enterprise, taking her crew compliment from 210 up to 430. Our beloved Discover Crew is integrated in and ..... Season 3 is on the Enterprise captained by Pike!

I totally and unconditionally support this idea.

1. Christopher Pike (nothing in canon says he can't still be there, all we know is that Kirk took command from him. For all we know, he's with Discovery for years before transferring back to the Enterprise as a Fleet Captain)
