Morgan Woodward RIP

I wonder if he ever knew he played the most deranged Starfleet officer in the history of all Trek?

Tracey was a terrific whackjob. Loved Woodward's performance...

Absolutely. He had these crazy eyes that elevated his performance.

My favourite line from Woodward was probably:

Captain Tracey : They sacrificed hundreds, just to draw us out in the open. And then they came, and they came. We drained four of our phasers, and they still came. We killed thousands and they still came.

That was a great scene, perfectly played by Woodward.

But he was always good, and he was almost everywhere on TV during that period — except on The Wild Wild West, for whatever reason, where I thought he would have been a very good fit.

Very sad news. Enjoyed his two guest roles on Star Trek. He played a good crazy guy ;).

I'm also a big fan of Dallas and I enjoyed his role as Punk Anderson, a close friend of patriarch Jock Ewing and later friend of Clayton Farlow, Ms. Ellies' 2nd husband.

What's amazing is he looked almost exactly the same in Dallas, 10 to 15 years later.

Just started watching my Gunsmoke season 14 dvds and Morgan Woodward has already appeared twice. Awesome both times of course.

As mentioned above, he would have been great on Wild Wild West. That show had several "mad general" villains during its run and he would have been a natural fit. Vincent Price is another actor who I was always disappointed never made an appearance.

The only time I ever saw him with brown hair was in the Planet of The Apes episode The Horse Race! Which was written by Booker Bradshaw oddly enough!

Ron Tracy is one of my favorite villains in the entire Trek franchise. Awesome, menacing foil for Kirk and company. Great performance as well

Morgan was also a City of Domes elder in the Logan's Run TV series.

RIP
